A 160 acre from on the Fulton-Marshall county line two and one-half miles south of Culver was
purchased last week by Alfred T. Kingery of David B. Rans. Mr. Kingery, of the Cloverleaf Dairy
expecrs to move on to the farm and operate a dairy farm.
1930 - Jan 15 - Has Naarrow Escape
One of the trucks of the Clover Leaf Dairy had a close call last Wednesday morning when it slipped
on the icy road leading across the Pennsylvania railroad tracks at the outlet of Lake Maxinkuckee.
The truck swung several different directions and finally ended up across the tracks near the
bridge. Mr. Kingery realized it was train time and in his effort to hurry the truck off the track
slipped into the ditch. But fortunately tha train had passed four minutes before the accident.
1930 - March 19 - Ill Health Forces Kingery to Sell Interst in Dairy
A breakdown in health from overwork has forced Alfred Kingery, associated with the Colver
Leaf Dairy for several years, to sell his interest and take a rest. Emmit Cultice has taken over
Mr. Kingery's share and since the 15th of the month has been in charge. Mr. Kingery will remain
on his farm for several months until his healt his recovered.

1930 Oct 22 Evert Hosel Purshases Kingery Dairy Route
A tansaction was completed last week whereby every Hoesy becomes proprietor
of the Kingery Dairy. He took possession at once and has hanged the name to
Hosel's Dairy. He plans several umprovements that will give him an up-to-date
dairy.

Alfred T. Kingery, 93, of Flora, died Friday evening at the Milner Community Health Care
Center, Rossville, following an extended illness.
Born May 4, 1883, he was the son of Jacob and Mary Hamilton Kingery.
He was married in 1908, to Myrtle Hughes, who survives.
He was a self-employed laborer and a member of the Flora Church of the Brethren.
Surviving with the wife are one son, Lee Kingery of Flora; one daughter, Mrs. Leta
Houghton of Culver; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
One daughter, four brothers, two sisters and three grandchildren preceded him in death.
Services were Monday at the Carter-Baker Funeral Home, Flora, with the Rev. Vernon
Powell officiating.
Burial was in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Flora. Twin brother of Almon C. Kingery

Myrtle S. Kingery, 94, formerly of 312 W. Columbia, Flora, died at 10 p.m.
Thursday, May 19, 1977, at Milner Health Care Center, Rossville.
Born Sept. 23, 1882, to Albert and Mary Ritchey Hughes, she was married
to Alfred T Kingery in 1907, who died in 1976.
She was a member of the Flora Church of the Brethren.
Survivors are one son, Lee Kingery, of Flora; one daughter, Leta Houghton,
Culver; one brother, Roy Hughes, Lafayette; one sister, Iva Miller of Culver;
and 4 grandchildren and six great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, four grandchildren, one sister
and three brothers.
Services were held Sunday at the Carter-Baker Funeral Home in Flora, with
Rev.. Vernon Powell officiating.
Burial was in Maple Lawn Cemetery.

Leta F. Houghton, 87, of Culver, Indiana, died at 8:45 P.M. on Saturday, December 27, 2003,
at St. Joseph Regional Med. Center, Plymouth, Indiana.
Leta was born on October 9, 1916, to Alfred and Myrtle (Hughes) Kingery at Galveston, I
ndiana. She was married on April 8, 1934, at Culver, Indiana, to Forrest F. Houghton.
He preceded in death on September 28, 1997.
She is survived by her loving son: Dr. John W. Houghton of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and
sister-in-law: Jean Kingery of Flora, Indiana
