Patrick died December 25, 1913
Patrick Kelley, 90 years old, died at 7:30 o'clock Thursday at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Thomas Hanley, 1527 Ohio Street. He was born in Ireland in 1823 and came to America when twenty years old. He first located in Cincinnati and afterwards lived in Greencastle and Muncie, Ind., coming from the latter place to Terre Haute twelve years ago. Since that time he has made his home with his daughter. Mr. Kelly was a sewer contractor by trade, and was also a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Chuch of this city. One brother, John Kelley, of Muncie, Ind., four sons, John, Charles, Edward and Michael, all of Terre Haute, one daughter, Mrs. Hanley, several grandchildren and one great-grandchild survive. The funeral will be held from the Hanley residence at 1:30 o'clock and from St. Patrick's church at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery.

Mrs. Patrick Kelly, 74, died at 7 o'clock last night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Thomas J. Hanley, 40 South Fifteenth street, from an attack of paralysis. Aside from the husband, the deceased is survived by five sons, James, Edward, Charles, Michael, and John, and one daughter, Mrs. Hanley. Thomas J. Hanley, husband of the daughter, is superintendent at the Highland Iron and Steel Works. Funeral services will be held at St. Patrick's church, Thirteenth and Poplar streets, at 9 o'clock Friday morning. Burial will following Woodlawn cemetery

Word was received Tuesday evening of the death of Mrs. Catherine Hanley, wife of Thomas J. Hanley, who died Tuesday at her home in Los Angeles, Cal., after an extended illness. The Hanleys were residents of Terre Haute until about a year ago when they moved to Los Angeles for the benefit of Mrs. Hanley's health. Mr. Hanley was connected with the Highland Iron and Steel company as superintendent for a number of years. Beside the husband the decedent is survived by three sons, Charles F. of Terre Haute, Thomas of Los Angeles and Walter of New York; two daughters, Mrs. Leonard Johnson of Terre Haute and Mrs. Mildred Kalen of Los Angeles; and four brothers, M.J. Kelley, Charles Kelley, Ed Kelley, and Jack Kelley, all of Terre Haute. The body will arrive here Saturday and will be taken to the home of the son, Charles Hanley, of 616 North Fourteenth street.

Word was received here Thursday of the death in Los Angeles, Calif.. Thomas J. Hanley, former well known Terre Hautean. Mr. Hanley was associated with W. C. Ely, M. Myers, John L. Smith and others in the organization of the Highland Steel Co. He retired some years ago and removed to California. He is survived by three sons, Charles J. of this city, Walter J. of New York, and Thomas of California, and two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Yunker, and Mrs. Irene Johnson, both of Los Angeles. He was -- years of age.

Mr. Hanley is also survived by a brother, Michael T. Hanley of Muncie. Mrs. Hanley died in California in 1925. He was general superintendent of the Highland Mills from 1900 to 1922.

The remains will be sent here for burial, arriving Monday.

Michael J. Kelly, age 67, died Saturday morning at 8 o'clock at the family residence, 1524 Third avenue. For many years he was connected with the Highland Iron and Steel Co. In later years he had conducted a cafe at Fifteenth and Locust streets. He was a member of St. Ann's church during all the years of his residence here, and also, was the head of a family of well known Terre Haute citizens. He is survived by his sons, John F., James J., Ralph, Thomas, and Robert, and one daughter, Loretta. One brother, John, also survives. The remains were taken to the Callahan funeral home, and will be returned to the residence Saturday at 5 p.m. The funeral will be held from there at 8:30 Monday morning, and at 9 o'clock from St Ann's church, where requiem mass will be read.

Mrs. Michael J. Kelly of 1524 Third avenue, died Friday night at St. Anthony's hospital, following an operation. She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Loretta, and five sons, John, James, Ralph, Thomas, and Robert. Also by one sister, Mrs. Thomas X. Fitzgerald of Youngstown, O., and two brothers, Frank and William Daugherty of Madison Hill. She was a member of the A. of H., and of the K. and L. of H. The funeral will be held Monday morning from St. Ann's church.

Mrs. Kelly was active in church and charity work and her death is a sad shock to her many friends, few of who knew of her illness. Her husband, M.J. Kelly, is a prominent iron worker and is connected with the Highland Iron & Steel Co.

Services for Ralph P. "Doc" Kelly, 74, 327 Butler St. Michigan City, formerly of Terre Haute, who died Tuesday, will be at 9 a.m. Friday at Ott and Sons Funeral Home, Michigan City. Funeral mass will follow at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Queen of All Saints Church, Michigan City. Friends may call Thursday. Surviving are the widow, Helen B.; a son, Michael, Michigan City; a brother, John F., Terre Haute; five grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.

Word has been received by John F. Kelly, Terre Haute, and Ralph Kelly, Michigan City, of the death of their brother, Thomas E. Kelly., formerly of Terre Haute, who died Sunday morning at Jackson, Mich. He was an engineer for the Bituminous Materials Co. Surviving are two sons, Gerald, Kalamazoo, Mich., and John R., Schoolcraft, Mich., a step-son, Eugene Robertson, Beach Grove, Ind.; a daughter, Mrs. Betty Batten, Mendon, Mich.; twelve grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Edwards Catholic Church, Mendon, Mich. Burial will be in the Mendon Cemetery. Friends may call after noon Monday at the Eickhoff Funeral Home, Mendon, Mich., where the Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday.

Miss Loretta Kelly, 76, 823 S. 6th St., died at 2:05 p.m. Sunday. She had been a case worker for the Vigo County Welfare Department for 23 years prior to her retirement. She was a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the St. Anthony Senior Guild and the National Council; of Catholic Women. She had been a volunteer worker in the St. Anthony Hospital Gift Shop for many years and was active in the Fatima Retreat House program at Indianapolis. She is survived by three brothers, John F., Terre Haute; Ralph, Michigan City, Ind.; and Thomas, Jackson, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Callahan Funeral Home, with Mass of the Resurrection to follow at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. The Wake Service will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Monday.

6 JOHN FRANCIS KELLY married Katherine Walsh

John F. Kelly, secretary of the Carpenter Construction Company, of Terre Haute, was born in Mucnice, Ind., September 26, 1895, and while one of the younger business men of the city, had already mad a reputation for ability in business management. In. 1900, he came with his parents, Michael J. and Mary Ann (Doherty) Kelly, and here his mother died January 31, 1913, while the father is now living retired from active business affairs. John F. Kelly was deucated in the parochial schools of this city, after completeing which he took a course in Brown's business college. His first experience in the business world was gained with the Burk & O'Neal Coal Company, with which he was connected for one and one-half years. Then was employed with Nattkemper, Connely & Company in 1913, and when the Carpenter Construction Company was organized in 1916, Mr. Kelly was made its secretary, an official position which he has held ever snice. Fraternally, he is a member of the Knights of Columbus and of the Y.M.I. Mr. kelly was married in July, 1918, to Catharine J. Walsh, of Terre Haute, and and they have two sons, John F. Jr. and Richard Walsh. Mr. Kelly and his family are all members of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, in the affairs of which they take an active part, and are popular in the younger social life of the community. Mr. Kelly was inducted into the service of his country, September 20, 1917, assigned to the 309th Ammunition Train, 84th Division, was promoted on October 15, 1917 to Corporal, Nov. 1st 1917 was made Sergeant, Battalion Sereant Major, Nov. 21, 1917, graduated from 3rd officers training school on APril 19, 1918, as 2d Lieutenant of F.A., transfered to Adjutant Genreal's Department and made 1st Lieutenant, October 8, 1918, and was assigned as assistant camp personnel adjutant Camp Jackson, S. Carolina. He was discharged February 7, 1919, and is a member of the American Legion - Esarey, Logan. Services for John F. Kelly, 86, who died at 11:45 p.m. Friday at Parkview Memorial Hospital, Plymouth, will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Callahan Funeral Home Central Chapel. He was a resident of 2160 East Shore Drive, Culver, and had been a resident of Terre Haute for several years. A veteran of World War I, Kelly founded his own construction company in 1919 which developed into the present Wabash Valley Asphalt Co., of which he served as chairman of the board of trustees. Kelly also was founder of the Bituminous Materials Company, and co-founder of the Terre Haute Concrete Supply Co. He is a charter member of the Indiana Constructors Association, and for the past 25 years has been active in church-related philanthropic activities. In addition, he has published litanies and prayers which are distributed worldwide. He and his wife, Catharine Walsh Kellly, have established a foundation for gifts to charities. His memberships include St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the Elks Lodge, all of Terre Haute. Survivors in addition to his wife include five sons, Richard, William, Thomas, and James, all of Terre Haute, and Joseph of Saginaw, Mich.; 30 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren. Following services Tuesday, the Mass of the Resurrection will be said at St. Joseph's Church Church, Rev. Dismas J. Veeneman officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Monday. Visiting hours will be after 3 p.m. Monday.

Katharine Walsh Kelly, 90, Terre Haute, died at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday in her summer home in Culver . She was born August 2, 1894 in Terre Haute to John L. Walsh and Anna R Connelly. Survivors include five sons, Richard W., William R., Thomas, James M., all of Terre Haute, and Joseph P. of Saginaw, Mich., one sister, Margaret Reynolds, Louisville, KY; 30 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church, St. Mary's Church in Culver , the ISU Alumni Association, and she was a graduate of Wiley High School. Services are sched uled for 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Callahan East Funeral Home, with Mass of the Resurrection at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Burial is in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7:30.

John Francis Kelly,Jr., 2-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Kelly, Sr., 2006 South Center street, died at 3 o'clock Wednesday morning at the residence following a week's illness of pneumonia. Besides the parents he is survived by one brother,Richard; the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John L. Walsh and Michael J. Kelly. 1906 - Aug.2 - WIll Kelly, age 17, son of John F. Kelly of Indianapolis had a narrow escape from drowning at the lake Saturday. He was recued by a 14 year old boy after he had disappeared twice. He was attacked by cramps.

William "Sean" Kelly, 33, of Indianapolis and formerly of Terre Haute died Thursday, January 7, 1993, in his residence. He was owner of Sean Kelly Interiors at Indianapolis and worked for Congressman Adam Benjamin. Survivors include his parents, William R. and Helen Jane Johnson Kelly of Culver, two brothers, Kevin John of South Bend and Timothy Peter of Carmel;and one sister, Laura Lynn Kelly of Indianapolis. He had worked for Congressman Adam Benjamin until his death. He also worked as a lobbyist for the American Cancer Society. He was a graduate of Culver Military Academy and Regis College.Services are 4:30 p.m. in St. Luke Catholic Church at Indianapolis. Leppert & Hurt Mortuary assisted with arrangements. >
