Charlotte L. Hanna, 89, Sarasota, Fla., formerly of Logansport, died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2002, in Sarasota, Fla.
Born Aug. 26, 1913, in Walton, she was the daughter of John and Cora Kesling. She was married on June 30, 1940, to
Frederick B. Hanna.
They resided in Logansport and Culver until moving to Sarasota, Fla., in 1982.
Mrs. Hanna was a music teacher and a member of Alpha Omega at Ball State University.
She was a former member of Calvary Presbyterian Church and many other civic organizations.
Surviving are one daughter, Jennifer E. Messmer, Bradenton, Fla.
One son, Frederick J. Hanna preceded in death.
Private services will be held at a later date with burial in Logansport. (1-25-03)
Frederick B. Hanna, 89, former Logansport attorney, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002, in Sarasota, Fla.
Born Sept. 5, 1913, in Cass County, he was the son of Roy and Emma Burkhart Hanna. On June 30, 1940, he
was married to Charlotte Kesling, who died Nov. 23, 2002.
A graduate of Indiana University, where he was a member of Kappa Sigma, Mr. Hanna received his undergraduate and
J. D. degree in 1938. He was admitted to the bar in 1938. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II,
and was a member of the Judge Advocate Corps.
He began his law practice in 1945 in Logansport and practiced continually until 1982. He was City Attorney for
Logansport in 1947 and also was Prosecuting Attorney for Cass County from 1941 to 1943 and from 1950 to 1952. He
was President of the Cass County Bar Association from 1952 to 1953.
Mr. Hanna resided in Logansport and Culver and was a member of the Elks and Rotary clubs of Logansport.
He was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church and many other civic organizations until moving to Sarasota, Fla., in 1982.
Surviving are one daughter, Jennifer E. Messmer, Bradenton, Fla.; one sister,
Pauline Hockman, one sister-in-law, Jane Hanna,
and several nieces and nephews.
One son, Frederick J. Hanna, and one brother, Harmol Hanna, preceded in death.
Private services will be held at a later date, with burial in Logansport. (1-25-03)
