2250 East Shore Drive, Indianapolis Club  

The first structure on this property was built between 1850 and 1885.

The club, one of many around the lake, were usually fishing and hunting clubs. When the Indianapolis Club was built, a long pier also was constructed to accomadate the steamboats that ran around the lake beginning at the Vandalia Station Pier. These boats required longer piers due to their draft.

1931- Jun 3 - Mr. and Mrs. Frank Albright of Indianapolis have purchased the cottage formerly owned by Mrs. Edna Christian now Dean of Women of Butler University in Indianapolis. The Albrights will spend the summer at the Christian cottage which is one of the oldest on the lake.

1930 Nov. 12 - Wm. O Osborn and wife WD. Chester W. Albright and and Madge C. parts of lots 5 and 6 VanSchoiacks sub div. of lot 2 27-31-1 $1.

1931 - Sep 16 - Mr. and Mrs Chester Albright have gone to Indianapolis with their family following a three months stay at their newly acquired cottage on the East side of the lake. The Albright cottage was formerly owned by Edna Christian, an early Pioneer of the east side.

Lady Eunice Oakes widow of Sir Harry Oakes, who was slain at their Nassau, Bahamas, home a year ago this month, is a guest at the summer home on Lake Maxinkuckee of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Foskett, formerly of Logansport and now of Palm Beach, Fla.

Two sons of Lady Oakes are attending Culver Summer schools. Mr. Foskett was attorney for the slain nobleman.

1944, Oct 25 - Madge C. Albright to Walter W. and Bertha Foskett south 75 feet of Lot 5 VanShoisck's subdivision except triangle tract, etc.

After selling this cottage Madge C. Albright in turn bought the cottage at 1784 E Shore within a few hours or days.
