Concert Violinist Will Be Featured at Royat Hotel

    An interesting musical event will be held at t he Royat hotel this evening a 8 o'clock, when the management will present Mrs. Charles Lanzer, Miami, talented violinist, and Frank Hynese, popular tenor.

    Mrs. Lanzer, know professionally as Marion Barry Taylor, formerly lived in St. Petersburg, where she has a host of musical admirers who will be glad this chance to again en joy her marvelous talent. The artist has been recently associated with Mana-Zucca. She will be soloist with the Civic Symphony in Miami next April.


Mrs. Marian B. Lee Wife of Former City Manager
    Marian B. Le, wife of the late Leroy L. Lee, former Miami city manager, died Friday in Larkin General Hospital.

    A native of Chicago, Mrs. Lee came to Miami in 1936. She played violin in Ceasar LaMonica's Orchestra during many concerts at Bayfront Park Bandstand.

    A 1907 graduate of the Chicago Conservatory of Music, Mrs. Lee studied for five years under the Paris violin teacher Izah, on a scholarship from the conservatory. She was a soloist with the Royal Scot Highlander band when she arrived in Miami.

    During World War II, she and her husband bought the Key West Bus Line. They sold the business in 1944, when they purchased the South Miami Coachline and the South Miami Tazi Co., which was sold in 1956.

    She was a member of the South Miami Beach Women's Club, a past president of the Town Club of South Miami, a past president of Altursa International of Miami and a charter member of the Eastern Star of South Miami. In 1950 she was cited by the Altursa International as "Outstanding Business Woman of the Year". She was later named "Woman of the Year", by the Dade County Business and Professional Club.

    She Leaves a daughter, Betty Stewart Kluever; and three grandchildren.

    Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the Phillbrick and Son Coral Gables Funeral Home.

    Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Flager Memorial Park Cemetery.

Lee, Ex-Miami Manger, Dies

    Leroy L. Lee, City manager of Miami, FLa from 1931-1937 and from 1939-1941, who was born at Slayton, Minn. and entered news paper work with the Sioux Falls Press in 1922, died last night at Jackson Memorial hospital, Miami of a heart attack, The Associated Press reported today.

    He was 50 years old.

    Hired for the Press by Fred Christopherson, now editor of the Argus-Leader, Lee rose in a few years to city editor before leaving for Europe as a free lance correspondent. He went to Miami as a reporter for the Miami Herald and through his assignment to cover city hall he became well known that E. C. Romfh, then mayor, offered him the post of City manager. He accepted and later was promoted to manager.

    He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Marion Lee and one son Schubert Lee of Miami - Richmond News Leader, Richmona, Virginia Thu, Feb 21, 1946 ·Page 13


Lee's Will Ruled Void
    An unwitnessed will, purportedlv left by Levius LeRoy Lee, two time Miami city manager who died last month, has been declared void by County Judge W. Frank Blanton.

    Lee's $25,000 estate will be shared by his widow, Marion, and a son, Schubert, 16.

    Judge Blanton ruled the will. written in longhand and dated July 5, 1944, void, because it was not witnessed by two subscribers.

    Lee's estate consisted of $15,000 0 0 00 in insurance, notes, and perproperty. plus $10.000 in real estate.

    Mrs. Lee resides at 247 N. E. 31st st. Lee's son, Schubert, now lives with an uncle, William C. Lee, named his guardian, at 2346 S. W. 20th st.
