Martha N. Cleavenger, 87, formerly of Culver , passed away at 6:50PM on Friday, August 14, 2009 at Miller's Merry
Manor in Plymouth where she had been living.
Martha was born on Nov 22, 1921 in Cincinnati, Ohio, one of 2 children born to
William and Ethel (Doles) North.
Martha fell in love and married James Turner on Sept 6, 1946 in Oak Park, Illinois. Together they raised 2 children.
James preceded her in death on Dec 29, 1980. Martha later married William D. Cleavenger. He also preceded
her in Feb 2002.
Martha was a longtime resident of Culver and a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church there. She loved
to do needlepoint, read, and play bridge....a great mom who will be dearly missed.
Martha is survived by her children - James (Nancy) Turner of Columbus, Ohio and Sally (Bob) Shriner of
Mishawaka, Indiana and grandchildren - Libby Dickstein, Jamie Turner, and Bob Shriner.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, and her brother William F. North.
Visitation with the family will be held at the Bonine-Odom Funeral Home, Culver , on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 from
1:00 - 2:00 PM EDT. Rev. Larry Saunders will officiate the services at 2:00PM on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at the
funeral home.
Memorials may be given in Martha's memory to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care or to Miller's Merry
Manor in Plymouth, Indiana.
