    James B. Turner CULVER - James B. Turner, 58, of 2370 E. Shore Lane, Culver, died at 2 p.m. Monday at his home on Lake Maxinkuckee, of a sudden illness.

    He was born on May 1, 1922, in Chicago. 'He had been a summer resident of Lake Maxinkuckee since 1950.

    He was division general manager for Container Corporation of America of Carol Stream, Ill.

    On Sept. 6, 1946, in Oak Park, Ill., he married Martha North.

    She survives along with a daughter, Mrs. Sarah Shriner of South Bend; a son, James N. Turner of Toledo, Ohio; a grandson; and a sister, Mrs. Virginia Fellowes of Wheaton, Ill. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Bonine Funeral Home of Culver. Rev. Donald Bowman, pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church, will officiate.

    Burial will be in Culver Masonic Cemetery.

    Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

    Sarah Lynn (Sally) Turner Birth 18 MARCH 1949 Oak Park, Cook County, Illinois Death 25 JUNE 2016 Elkhart, Elkhart County, Indiana ; Nov. 26, 1977 in Culver, Marshall county, Indiana Robert "Bob" Shriner.
      MISHAWAKA - Sally Shriner, 67, passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2016, after a 2.5 year battle with cancer, at Hospice House in Elkhart.

      Sally was born on March 18, 1949 in Oak Park, Ill. to James B and Martha (North) Turner. She was preceded in death by her parents.

      On Nov. 26, 1977 in Culver she married Robert Shriner.

      Surviving are her husband, Robert; son, Robert "Bob" T. Shriner of Lafayette and a brother, James "Jim" N. Turner of Columbus, Ohio.

      Sally was an elementary teacher. She received her BA degree from Monmouth College in Monmouth, Ill. and her Master's from Indiana Univ.

      She taught at Webster School in Plymouth from 1971 to 86 and at Mary Phillips and Beiger schools in Mishawaka from 1986 till 2011.

      Sally loved teaching, counted cross stitch, gardening, reading and travel. She also enjoyed frequent gatherings "Friday at Sally's" with some of her teaching friends.

      Funeral services will be at 12 p.m. on Friday, July 1, with visitation from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in First United Methodist Church in Mishawaka. Rev. Rick Taylor will officiate.

      Hahn Funeral Home, Mishawaka has been entrusted with handling the final arrangements.
