Their Adopted Boy - Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Maynard of 64th Street, are receiving hearty congragulations over the little three year old boy who recently became their son by legal adoption. Sunday the fellow was the bewildered object of much attention in the Englewood Baptist Church, where he looked like such a little mite of humanity in the arms of his new found parents. W. M. Baker, East Shore Lane Cottage, Passes On.
William Maynard Baker of Baker Lodge on East Shore Lane, Lake Maxinkuckee, passed waway at his Chicago home, 6414 Harvard Ave., on Saturday August 22, after an illness of nine months.

He suffered with serious complications following an attack of plural pneumonia last December in St. Petersburg, Flordia.

He was vice-president of the East Shore Lane Property Owners Association and was held in high esteem by the residents of the lake and town. - Citizen Sept 2, 1931

Mr. Wellington Arthur Jones of the Standard Oil Compapny of Chicago and Mrs. William Maynard Baker of Bakers Ladge of East Shore Lane were married at Mrs. Baker's Chicago home on Wedensday July 6. The following article appeared in a recent issue of the Standard Oil Company magazine, "Stanolind Record":

Mariner friends of Mr. and Mrs. Wellington A. Jones on Lake Maxinkuckee who have noticed the latern hanging high on the pier of "Fornit Lodge" may not know the significance of its green and red light that burn night and day.

The green light in the language of railroaders the world over means "come on" and the red light "stop", and the Commodors, as Mr. Jones is known to his legion of friends, many of whom are railroaders, placed the lantern there as a beacon of welcome to those who see the green light ahead of th em, and as a warning against collison with the pier before them

Fortnite Lodge was recently renamed by Mrs. Jones in honor of her husband's long years of service with the Standard Oile Co.(Indiana) in the promotion and sales of "Forenite Long Time Burning Oil", an oil for signal lamps used all over the United States.
Mr. and Mrs. Jones will spend the winter at the Del Prado Hotel in Chicago.

1932 - Sept 7 - Commodore and Mrs Wellington Arthur Jones entertained guests over the week end at their summer home, Fortnite Lodge. From Chicago they were Mr. and Mrs. James E. Millon, who has been with Armour Packing Co. for forty years; and Mr. and Mrs. William Cowey of the New York Central Railroad Co.; and Mr. and Mrs. Everrett Maynard Jr. who is with Swift and Company; Mr. amd Mrs. Lee Rowe, the daughter of Mrs. Jones came Labor Day to visit her mother after spending the weekend at Michigan City.

o 1933 - Jun 20 - Mrs. Wellington A. Jones is at her summer home. Fortnite Lodge, for the summer. Miss Ada Owen, Mrs. Jones sister, will be here at the lake all summer.

1933 - Jul 12 - Mrs. W. A. Jones has gone to Chicago on business for a few days and will return to her summer home later in the week. Guests at the Jones cottage the Fortenite Ladge over the weeked were Mr. and Mrs. Everrett Maynard and Mr. and Mrs. Stephen M. Maynard, all being of Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Maynard will be at Maxinkuckee for several weeks.
