    Tyson home on lake burned to ground in 1956


1956 - Feb 1 - Richard R Tyson Home Razed by Fire
    Fire of undetermined orging completely destroyed the East Shore Drive summer home and contents belonging to Richard R Tyson of St. Louis, Mo. Sataurday afternoon. A fisherman on the lake saw the fire about 1:30 p.m. hurried to the home of Charles Barnhardt on East Shore Drove to call the firedepartment.

    When the Culver Fire Department arrived the building was in flames out of control. The Plymouth FIre Department was called to help protect the neighboring cottages on the south belonging to D. Wildermuth of Logansport and on the north to E. E. Furry of Plymouth.


1956 - Aug 15 - Tysons Are Building A Beautiful East Shore Drive Year-Around Home
    Mr. and Mrs Richard R. Tyson hace sold their Clayton, Mo. home and are making Culver their legal residence. Construction has begun on their beautiful new year around home at 2434 East SHore Drive, the site of their cottage which burned to the ground last winter. The new home, which they hope will be ready for Christmas occupancy will have four bedrooms and four baths.

    Commencing Four (4) feet North of a cottonwood tree eight (8) Inches in diameter on the east meander line of Lake Maxinkuckee, that being the northwest corner of lot number three (3) in section Twenty seven (27) township thirty two (32) North Range one (1) East; thence East with the North line of saind Lot Number (3) being the center section line, 140 feet to the west line of a public alley 20 feet wide thence souht 34 degrees west twith the wwest line of said alled 69 feet to the North east corner of Erwin's lot 137 deet to the east meander line of Lake Maxinkuceek thench noeth 34 degrees east with said meander line 61 1/2 feet to the northwest corner of said lot number three (3), the place of beginninf, in Union towp ship, Marshall county Indiana.
    Also a trianguler tract of land decribed as commencing at the southwest corner of lot three (3) of Cornelius and Ewing's Sub-division of lots thwenty three (23), , twhenty four (24) and twenty five (25) of VanSchoiack's Lake Front sub-division number three (3) in Lot Number two (2) of Section twenty Seven (27), township thirty two (32) North Range one (1) East running thence South alonf the west end of a portion of land heretofore decicated as a twenty (20) foot alley running along the entire south side of VanShoiack's thrid sub-division of lot number two (2) section twenty seveb (27) townoship thirty two (32) North Range one (1) East, to the distance of 20 feet to the southwest corner of VanShoiack's sub-division Number thee (34) in said Lot Number two (2) Section twenty seven (27) townoship thirty two (32) North Range one (1) East, which is also the northwest corner of a tract of lande heretofore known as the Craig lot, purchased by Paul H. Kraus Jr. and Calla Krause husband and wife on July 8 1926, running thence East along the south line of what was heretofoe known as a 20 foot alley and which south line is also the north line of said
    Craig lot, to the Northeast corner of the said Craig lot from thence running in a Northwestardly direction diagonally acrocss said 20 foot alley to the place of beginning.

Also the South 1/2 of a vacated alley south of VanSchoiack's Subdivision. Also a part of Lot #3 of Cornelius Subdivision, all in Section 27, Township 32 North, Range 1 East, Union Township, Marshall County, Indiana.


Was razed and absorbed into 2420 Eeast Shore Lane
