Frank "Bud" Suverkrup
Bud died Monday evening January 23, 2023 at his home in Vero Beach, Florida, he was 94 years old,
Bud was born February 29, 1928 in Columbus, Indiana, to J. Carl and Mabel Tellman Suverkrup.
Bud was a graduate of, St.Peter's Lutheran School, Columbus High School, and Oklahoma University,
where he met his wife of 66 years, Beverly Jean Purdy Suverkrup, who preceded Bud in death in 2017.
Bud served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, he was on the dock boarding the ship for Korea
when the Peace Agreement was reached.
Bud and Beverly had three children, Craig (Connie) Suverkrup, Mark (Juli) Suverkrup, and Jim Suverkrup.
They also had three grandchildren, Chad (Jenny) Suverkrup, Courtney Suverkrup, and Joseph Suverkrup.
As well as two very adorable great grand children Claire and Rose Suverkrup.
Bud owed and operated the Benzol Cleaning Company, which later became Benzol Industrial Services, until
his retirement in 1988.
Bud was the Commodore of the Maxinkuckee Yacht Club in 1966. He loved sailing and power boating.
Bud was a member of the Columbus Municipal Airport, Board of Aviation Commissioners, and was a 4500 hour
Instrument and Twin Engine Rated Private Pilot.
Bud and Beverly were members of Grace Lutheran Church, in Columbus, Indiana, as well as the Lutheran Church
of the Redeemer, in Vero Beach, Florida.
Bud was also preceded in death by his sister Rose Ann Suverkrup Crim, and her husband Jack Crim, who have two
children Dr. Robert Crim and Pamela Crim.
Bud loved his family, and he is loved and will be missed by us all.
The family would like to thank, Bud's very close friends and caregivers, Ernestine Williams and Sharon Thomas,
who made it possible for him to live on his own until now, as well as Craig and Connie Suverkrup who also provided
help without which Bud would not have been able to enjoy his last days of his life the way that he did.
Thank You God, for this great Father, Grand Father, and Great Grand Father, and for all the ways You blessed him,
and for the great blessing he was to all of us!
The funeral will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor John W.
Armstrong officiating. Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to time of service Saturday at the church.

Beverly Suverkrup, 87, of Vero Beach, Florida and Columbus, Indiana, passed
from this life Wednesday, August 23, 2017, peacefully in her sleep. |

Mrs. Suverkrup was born September 6, 1929, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to the late Hettie Lee Simpson Purdy and
Harrison Clarence Purdy. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Harrison Clarence Purdy Jr.
Mrs. Suverkrup attended the University of Oklahoma where she met her husband of 66 years, Frank “Bud” Suverkrup.
They lived in Columbus, Indiana, and raised three sons, Craig (Connie), Mark (Juli), and James Suverkrup. Beverly had
three grandchildren, Chad (Jenny), Courtney, and Joseph; and two great-grandchildren, Claire and Rose.
Mrs. Suverkrup was actively involved with Bible Study Fellowship in Columbus and Community Bible Study in Vero Beach,
Florida. She attended the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Vero Beach and Grace Lutheran Church in Columbus.
She loved God with all of her heart and served him faithfully.
She was an airplane pilot, an avid golfer, and loved playing games like Bridge and Mahjong with family and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor J
ohn W. Armstrong officiating.
Family and friends may call from 12:30 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.
Entombment will take place at the Garland Brook Mausoleum.
