Carl Roman Kulawinski 91, of Indianapolis, passed away on August 21, 2015.
Born on April 21, 1924, Carl grew up in Merrill, Wisconsin.
Carl served with pride as an officer in the United States Navy during World War II and
the Korean War.
He graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering,
where he was also a varsity boxer.
Carl worked for Northern Indiana Public Service for 41 years, rising to the position of
Vice President.
In 1950, he married Leda Anderson, the love of his life. On September 2, they would have
celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.
Carl is survived by Leda and by his six beloved daughters, Karen Myers (Craig) of Waunakee,
WI, Sue Salzinski (John) of Zionsville, Marian Miller (Jonathan) of Santa Clarita, CA,
Barbara Willett (Rory) of Santa Barbara, CA, Laura Marasco (Angelo) of Grand Haven, MI,
and Patty Rosiello (Michael) of Zionsville.
He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Carl loved fishing and working around the house. An inveterate tinkerer, there was nothing he
could not fix (or paint). In his slender, erect bearing but even more in his kind, loving,
and generous spirit, Carl was the epitome of a gentleman.
Although they mourn Carl's passing, all the generations of his family are grateful for the many

American beauty, pale pink and white gladioli banked the altar of St. James Catholic church for
the marriage today at 10 a. m. of Miss Leda Marie Anderson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius
Anderson, 409 S. Randall ave., and Carl Roman Kulawinski, Michigan City, Ind., son of Mr. and Mrs.
Andrew Kulawinski, Merrill. Fr. John A. Koelzer heard the vows.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attired in a gown white Chantilly lace over blush
pink satin styled with a Peter Pan collar and satin buttons. The full skirt of the goumandedcen a
pool train, and bonnet styled in halo fashion held a veil of illusion. A crescent shaped bouquet of
white 'mums and stephanotis was centered with a white orchid.
Mrs. John James Prucha, sister of the bride, Princetown, N.J., as matron of honor, appeared in a
gown of pale pink marquisette over American beauty taffeta with a chantilly lace bodice. She carried
a bouquet of asters shaded from pink to American beauty and wore a matching band of asters in her
hair, The bridesmaids, the Misses Lois Fossum, Madison, and Marilyn Rude, Dodgeville, wore gowns
styled like that of the matron of honor of pale pink marquisette over taffeta with similar bouquets
and headdresses.
Gerard Kulawinski served as hisbrother's best man, and Charles Merschon, Michigan City, Ind., and
William Van Lanen, Jackson, Mich., were ushers.
Mrs. Anderson watched the ceremony in a taupe two-piece gown of stone-cutter pink accessories and a
corsage of mauve gladioli stuffed with rosebuds. The bridegroom's mother was attired in an aqua
afternoon dress with black accessories and a corsage of pink roses.
Breakfast was served at the Edgewater hotel to 22 guests, and a reception was held at the home of the
bride's parents from 3 to 5 p. m. The Misses Maxine Bradbury. Oil Hill, Kas., Nancy Harris, and Mary
Leigh Westphal assisted.
When Mr. and Mrs. Kulawinski left on a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin, the bride was wearing a red
gabardine suit and a white orchid corsage.
After Sept. 12 they will reside at 340 Cloud st., Michigan City, Ind., where the bridegroom is with the
Northern Indiana Public Service
The bride was graduated from the University of Wisconsin in June, and Mr. Kulawinski in 1948. He is a

Leda Marie (Anderson) Kulawinski died peacefully on December 16, 2017, at the Hoosier Village
Health Center.
Leda was born on August 16, 1928, in Sturgeon Bay, Door County, Wisconsin to Elmer and Eva Anderson.
Leda's mother died when Leda was young, and she was raised by her father and stepmother, Mona Anderson.
The Anderson family had deep roots in Door County, and Leda spent her early years there.
In high school, she lived at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, where her father, a career Coast Guard officer,
trained Marines during World War II.
Leda then attended the University of Wisconsin. There she met the love of her life, Carl R. Kulawinski.
Leda and Carl were married in 1950 and spent 65 happy years together, until Carl's death in 2015. Living
in Michigan City and Crown Point, Indiana, they raised six beloved daughters, who survive her: Karen Myers
(Craig) of Waunakee, Wisconsin, Sue Salzinski (John) of Lake Zurich, Illinois, Marian Miller (Jonathan) of
Santa Clarita, California, Barbara Willett of Santa Barbara, California, Laura Marasco (Angelo) of Grand
Haven, Michigan, and Patty Rosiello (Mike) of Zionsville, Indiana.
Leda is also survived by 12 grandchildren and Great-grandmother of nine.
Leda will be missed by her daughters and allof her family, but they are glad shie is reunited with Carl.
Leda's family extends their deep gratifude and thanks to all of the cargivers at St. Vincents Hospital,
St. Vincent HOspice, and Hoosier Valley Health Center for the love, care, and concern they showed, both for Lrfa
and for the family in making Leda's final days as comforable as possible.
