    Henry Heywood, Well Known Cottager, Dies
      Suffers From Stroke

      Has Been Coming to Lake Maxinkuckee Since 1895; Promoinent in Insurance Circles

      Culver and Lake Maxinkuckee lost one of its pioneer cottagers when Henery B. Heywood, aged 65 years, passed away Sunday the the hospital at Plymouth following a paralytic stroke on Satruday. Previous strokes had incapacitated hime for some time

      Mr. Heywood was well known among the summer colony and town people, and his attractive cottage at the southeast end of the lake is one of the spots poineted out to visitors

      The Heywoods have been coming to the lake since about 1895, and Mr. Heywood was always an enthusiastic booster for the lake and the comminity.

      He was born in Chicago in 1865.

      He became state representative in Nebraska for a prominent fire insurance company, then later moved to Indianapolis where he carried on the same line of business.

      He was knowon as a progressive business man and instituted the service idea into his company, which later was adopted by other national concerns.

      He was also well known in religious circles as he had played a prominent part in establishing the All Souls Unitarian church in Indianapolis

      He was a member of the Society of Colonial Wars and other patriotic societes.

      Surviving are his wide, Mrs. Jessy Wallin Heywood; and three children: Mrs. Montgomery S. Lews; Thomas W. Heywood of Indianapolis, and Mrs. E. R. Culver Jr. of St. Louis Mo.

      Funeral services were held Tuesday afternnon at FLanner & Buchannan's Chapel, Indianapolis, with the Rev. Fred A. Lanre officiating. in the absence of Dr. Frank S. C. Wicks, his own pastore.

      Internment was in the Graceland Cemetery at Chicago. - June 25 1930 - Citizen

      Body of Henry B. Heywood to Be Cremated.

      Funeral services were held this afternoon for Henry B. Heywood, 65, of 408 East Thirteenth street, general insurance agency operator until his recent retirement, who died Sunday at the Morris hospital at Plymouth.

      He was taken to the hospital when he became ill at his summer home at Lake Maxinkuckee.

      Services were held at the Flanner & Buchanan establishment with Rev. Fred A. Line, pastor of the Central Christian church, offciating. The body was to be cremated.

      Mr. Heywood came to Indianapolis from Chicago in 1898.

      He was a member of the Unitarian church and one of the founders of the All Souls Unitarian church.

      Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Jessy Wallin Heywood; a son, Thomas W. Heywood, of Indianapolis; two daughters, Mrs. Montgomery Lewis, Indianapolis, and Mrs. E. R. Culver Jr. of St. Louis, Mo., and four grandchildren,. - The Indianapolis Times Jun 24, 1930

      Insurance Man Who Died at Plymouth Long Prominent in City Affairs.

      Henry B. Heywood, 65 years old, 408 East Thirteenth street, who operated a general insurance agency in Indianapolis until he retired several years ago, died Sunday in the Morris hospital at Plymouth, where he was taken from his summer home at Lake Maxinkuckee.

      Funeral services will be held in the undertaking establishment Flanner & Buchanan at 2 o'clock this afternoon. The Rev. Fred A. Line, pastor of the Central Universalist Church, will officiate.

      The body will be cremated.

      Starts Own Business.

      Mr. Heywood was born in Chicago 1865 and come to Indianapolis in 1898.

      He was associated with the Hartford Fire Insurance Company for r many years, serving as state agent in Nebraska and Indiana.

      Later he ended his connection with the company and established his own office, selling general insurance, until he retired.

      He was a member of the Unitarian church all his life and was one of the founders of the All Souls Unitarian Church here.

      Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Jessy Wallin Heywood; Thomas W. Heywood of Indianapolis; two daughters, Mrs. Montgomery S. Lewis of Indianapolis and Mrs. E. R. Culver Jr. of St. Louis, Mo., and four grandchildren, E. R.     Mrs. Heywood Dies; Cottager Since 1901

    Mrs. Jessy Wallen Heywood, 77 years old, lonf active in Indianapolis church and civic affairs died in her home ther Sunday, Feb. 16.

    Mrs. Heywood was born in Chicago, March 6, 1863.

    She was married to Henry B. Heywood in September, 1887. The couple came to Indianapolis in 1895 and Mrs. Heywood had been a resident there since. Mr. Heywoodo died in 1930

    The Heywoods had been summer cottagers on Lake Maxinkucke since 1901 and had one of the most attractive locations on the lake.

    Mrs. Heywood who loved the lake and surroundings, always felt herself a part of the community and was interested in local affairs. She once remarked to this writer that she always regretted when the time came for her to close her cottage on the lake and move back to Indianapolis. She will be missed her by her many friends.

    Survivors are a son, Thomas Wallin Heywood; two daughters Mrs. Montgomery S Lewis of Indianapolis and Mrs. Edwin R. Culver Jr. of St. Louis, Mo.; four grandchildren COnstance Lewis and Adeline Lewis of Indianapolis and Edwin R Culver III and Mrs. Frank E. Pelton Jr. of St. Louise, and a great grandson Frank E. Pleton III of St. Louise.

    Funeral Services were held Tuesday afternoon, Rev. E. Burdette Backus, pastor of All Souls Unitarian Church and Dr. Frank S. C. Wicks, pastor emeritus officiating - - Feb. 19 - 1941 Culver Citizens.
