Mr. Scott foss of Culver, Ind. and Mis Rebecca Staever, of Bluffton, Ind., were quietly marriedat the parsonage at Keyston, Ind. February 14th at 8:30 p.m., Rev.THomas Whittaker, pastor, officiating.

After a visit with friends at Indianapolis, Mr.and Mrs. Foss will residein the vicinity of Lake Maxinkuckee.

Mr. Fossis well and favorably known here and his many friends will be pleased to extend congratulations.

Miss Staever is amost estimable lady and the best wished of her many friends accompany her to their new home - Citizen Feb 22 1906.

Mrs. Rebecca Foss, of Yankeetown, Florida, former resident of this city, died suddenly at her home on Tuesday evening from heart failure. She suffered but a few minutes before she passed away.

She was 63 years of age, and was well-known in this city.

Her death came as a shock to her many friends. During her life in Lebanon she attended the Salem Lutheran Church.

The body arrived in this city this morning and is now in the establishment of Ray E. Arnold and Son, Undertakers of South Ninth Street.

She leaves as survivors, her husband, Scott Foss and five sisters, Lizzie Stoever, of Lebanon, Mrs. Deuris of Mt, Zion, Mrs. Eliza Bensing of Fredericksburg, Mrs. David Hoffman of Hamlin and Mrs. Sara A. Rose, of Rutten, Indiana. [Lebanon Semi-Weekly News 19 Oct 1925:]

Scott Foss Dies After Long Illness in Flordia

Word has been received of the death of Scott Foss in Yankeetwon, Flordia, on last Wednesday evening.

His wife died several years ago.

Mr. Foss was born and reared in this community, and he was an uncle of Mont. Foss

To the Editor:

I am enclosing a letter received last week from Yankeetown Fla. to let the many firends of Scott Foss around here know of his illness.

Mont Foss is a nephew.

Scot Foss built the Bide-A-Wee hotel on the East Eide around 32 or 33 years ago, was raised in the Washington neighborhood and has many freinds among the summer colony.

I have written to him for a long while and his last letter came around Christmas time.

His wife has been dead for around 10 or 12 years.

He made his home at my father's for years so I can't remember when I didn't know him - Mrs. George M. Crabb

My Dear Mrs. Crabb:

Your letter to Scott was received today.

Scott has been in bad health, or rather just seems wearing out.

He has been in bed since Jan. 3rd. I have been taking care of him since May 1937, but he was able to walk around until Jan. 3rd.

I have had a doctor with him, who told me he might go any time and he might outlive either of us. But he has wasted away so I hardly expect him to get up. He was lost his mind so at times he talks at random for hours, then he gains it back but can remember nothing of passing events.

He is in no pain, says he feels very bad at times, he eats some days, then others he says nothing tastes good.

He can turn himself in bed, but can't sit up at all. The doctor says there is no organic disease except that his heart is irregular from weakness.

I think he is getting good attention, as good as I can give him, I will continue to do so until he gets better. - L. E. Miles Yankeetown Fla. - Mar 30 1938
