1987-2024 - Vacants Lots - Richard Kortenhoven Kortenhoven Builders, Inc. Schererville, IN., Richard Kortenhoven President. Kortenhoven Builders was established in 1954. Since he was 12 years old, Richard Kortenhoven spent his free time working side-by-side with his father at this family-owned business. In 1968, Richard took over the business and continued to grow the company by doing residential construction and remodeling, and adding some commercial construction. During the recession in the 1980’s, Kortenhoven Builders shifted their focus on adding more commercial construction projects while still building custom homes in Northwest Indiana. Kortenhoven Builders resume includes the construction of many gas stations and Dunkin Donuts in Indiana, Illinois and the surrounding areas. If you see a Dunkin Donuts in Lake County Indiana, odds are Kortenhoven builders built it. The company is also doing projects for Pomp’s Tire Company. Throughout the years Kortenhoven builders has continued to build custom residential homes and is now shifting their focus to that market. The first major project will be The Apple Tree Estates Development in Schererville, IN. Apple Tree Estates has 38 lots and will have several homes to choose from.
