Louis A. Richter, 86, Peru, passed away at 8:13 p.m. Monday, Aug. 7, 2006
at his residence.
He was born March 6, 1920 in Peru to Alvin and Martha (Menzel) Richter.
He married
Donnabelle Brinley June 11, 1941, and she survives.
Richter also lived at a summer house at Maxinkuckee Lake, Culver.
He was the former owner/operator of the
Richter-Keirn Buick-Oldsmobile dealership.
He was a member of First Christian Church for 65 years, the Elks,
American Legion and Peru Maennerchor. He enjoyed fishing, golfing,
boating, woodworking and spending time with family and his
grandchildren.
In addition, he was a U.S. Army World War II veteran.
Survivors besides his wife include two daughters, Mary Lou Tate and
husband Michael, Pickerington, Ohio, and Martha Donaldson, Hollywood,
Fla.; a son, Robert Richter and wife Theresa, Indianapolis; five
grandchildren, Jody and Christopher Tate, Tamra Donaldson, Vanessa
Damitz and Joshua Richter; two great grandchildren, Katelyn and Hayley
Damitz; and a sister, Helen Keirn and husband Noel, Peru.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
A private family service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, with Pastors Ron
Lewellen, Steve Fleck and George McCarty officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Peru. Friends may call from 1
to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m.
Thursday at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, Peru. Memorial contributions
may be made to First Christian Church, Peru, or Emmanuel Methodist
Church, Culver.
