    Elmer O. IRWIN, 61, retired farmer residing two miles southeast of Argos, died at 8:30 a.m. today in Woodlawn hospital where he had been a patient for a week. Death was attributed to a coronary occlusion.

    He was a life long resident of Marshall county.

    Mr. Irwin was born February 7, 1892, on a farm near Argos. His parents were Wesley and Rosetta IRWIN.

    On January 6, 1914, he was married to Iva MIDDLETON, Argos.

    He was a member of the Jordan Baptist church and also attended the Argos Christian church.

    Survivors are his wife, at home; two sons, Harold [IRWIN], Woodstock, Ill.; Kline [IRWIN], Plymouth; two brothers, Francis [IRWIN], Argos; Herschel [IRWIN], Plymouth; four sisters, Mrs. Nellie QUIVEY, near Plymouth; Mrs. Ila JONES, Mrs. Nova WARNER and Mrs. Crystal FISHBURN, all of Argos.

    Friends may call at the Grossman funeral home, Argos, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday with rev. J. Robert COOVERT officiating.

    Burial will be in the Maple Grove cemetery, Argos. - The Rochester Sentinel Saturday, March 7, 1953

    PLYMOUTH - Services for Iva F. Strommenger, 99, of 222 Parkview St., who died at 5:05 p.m.

    Thursday in Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home, will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Johnson Funeral Home.

    Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos.

    Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

    Memorial contributions may be made to First United Church of Christ. Mrs. Strommenger was born Nov. 3, 1893, in Walnut Township, Marshall County, and was a lifelong area resident.

    She was married to Elmer Irwin for 39 years before he died.

    She was married to George Gilmer for five years before he died.

    She then married Fred Strommenger, who also preceded her in death.

    Surviving are two sons. Harold Irwin of Woodstock, Ill., and Kline Irwin of Bremen; four grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. An infant daughter preceded her in death.

    She was a member of Walnut Township Home Demonstration Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1162 Auxiliary and Plymouth Senior Citizens Club, where she served as secretary for six years. - South Bend Tribune Sat, Dec 19, 1992
