Grace Church to Observe 75th Anniversary
Former Pastors To Participate
Seven former pastors together with prominent laymen will join Rev. Harold W. Hohman in a
series of services marking the seventy-fifth anniversary of Grance United Church of Christ here
during the week of Oct. 2-8

Rev. Victor Weidler, Waverly, Ohio.
Dr. Meredith Sprunger, chairman, Dept of Philosophy Indiana Techical College, Ft. Wayne
William MacQUillan, Culver; and Deane E. Walker, Plymouth.
"Two Feasts in the Shadow of the Cross", will be the sermom topic of Rev. C. J. Lang for the morning
worship service next Sunday at 10:30. Rev. Lang who served as pastor from 1926-1931, will be
assisteby by Rev. R. Worthman, 1959 interim pastor, and Rev. Hohman. In addition to observing
Work Communion Sunday, some thirty 50- year members of Grace Church will be honored.

Sylvester Zecheil, Mr. and Mrs. WIllard Secheil and Rollen Hawk
Recognition of laymen and ministers will feature the evening service set for 7:30 next Sunday evening. Rev.
Jarvey HArsh, pastor of St. John's United CHurch of Christ at Daville, Ill., will have as his topic "Grace Church
Yesterday, Today and Tommorrow". Reverend Harsh, who became pastor of Grace CHurch in 1932 and
served for 10 years here will be assisted by WIlliam MacQuillian, who has filled the pulpit on many occasions.
"The CHurch its Organizations and the Community" will be the theme of a Wednesday evening banquet to be
held in Fellowship Hall of the Culver Methodist Church. Don Hand, will be toastmaster fo the program which
will feature a talk by D. Hardigg Secton, former interim pastor and Acedemy chaplain. Ministers of community
churches have been invited to participate in the program as guests of the Grace Church.
Family Day will be observed at the morning worsohip sevice at 10'oclock Sunday morning Oct. 9 "An Extra-Ordinary
Occasion for Thanksgiving" will be the sermon topic of Rev. Weifler, and "Building for Tommorrow" has been
selected by Dr. Meredith Sprunger. Rev. Weilder was pastor of Grace church, 1942-49; and Dr. Sprunger, 1950-59.
Dean Walker, former lay leader will assist in the service.
"Greeting Ou Neighbors" will feature the Open House Tea to be held at the church at 4 p.m. SUnday Oct. 9
Special music will be presented by the Grace CHurch Choir under the direction of Mrs. Robert Rust at each of the
worship services. Margaret Swanson is organist.
