Austin Romig Family



Austin Romig - - Austin Romig, husband of Louisa Adaline Zechiel, is the son of Henry and his wife Sarah Jane (Cromely) Romig was born in Stark county, Indiana June 6, 1878.

He is a farmer, but has been engaged in other occupations, such as carpentering and ice cream manufacturing. They lived happily in their farm industry, but are now living in Culver.






Observed Fiftieth Wedding: Anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Austin M. Romig, well known Culver couple, observed their golden wedding anniversary in their home with members of their immediate family as Christmas Eve dinner guests. Mr and Mrs. Romig were married 50 years ago, Dec. 27, 1900, by Rev. N. H. Smith, in the home where they now reside. They have lived all their married life in the Culver community and have one daughter, Verda Romig. - DECEMBER 27, 1950






THE AUSTIN ROMIGS MAKE HOME AT WARREN, IND. MR. ROMIG BREAKS HIP

Mr. and Mrs. Austin Romig, long-time and well-known Culver residents of 215 South Ohio Street, left March 1 to make their home at the Methodist Memorial Home at Warren, Ind.

Recuperating from a broken right hip, Mr. Romig fell March 2 and broke his left hip. He underwent surgery at the Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne on March 4 and is getting along as well as can be expected.

His room number is 240 and he would greatly enjoy hearing from his Culver friends and neighbors.

Mrs. Romig is getting along satisfactorily at the home in Warren, but she too would enjoy so much hearing from Culver friends.






Mrs. Louise Zechiel Romig, 95, died at 5:45 p.m., Friday, June 15, at Warren's Methodist Memorial Home, following an extended illness.

She was born July 19, 1877, in the Culver area.

She was married December 27, 1900, to Austin Romig, who preceded her in death in 1970.

Surviving is one daughter, Verda Romig, of Culver.

Services were conducted at Culver's Grace United Church of Christ, with Rev. John Krueger, pastor, officiating, on Monday.

Burial was at Culver Masonic Cemetery.
