She was the daughter of Frank Harrison Taber and Ethel Huldah Wiseman Ethel was the daughter of the above B. W. S. Wiseman.

    Norman M. Scruggs, 79, of 311 S. Main St., died at 5:35 p.m. Sunday in St. Joseph's Hospital of Marshall County, Plymout after an illness.

    He was a son of Norman E Scruggs and Nellie Florence Bailey.

    Mr. Scruggs retired in 1985 as a U.S. Post Office custodian and previously retired in 1960 from Bendix Corp., South Bend. He was born on April 21, 1916, in Gretna, VA.

    On Aug. 29, 1938, in Culver, he married Rosemary Jan Taber. She died July 21, 1994.

    Surviving are a daughter, Norma Janeen Resnick of South Hadley, Mass.; a son, Phillip D. of Rochester, Minn.; five grandchildren; and a brother, Jack of Plainfield, Mich.

    Mr. Scruggs was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Finney-Schilling Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6919

    Mr. Scruggs, 59, of Stewartville, died unexpectedly Monday (Aug. 4, 2008) at the home of a friend in Rochester following a lengthy illness.

    Phillip David Scruggs was born July 25, 1949, in Indianapolis, Indiana. His birth name was Garth Wilson, and he was adopted as an infant by Norman and Rosemary (Taber) Scruggs on September 14, 1949. He grew up in Culver, Ind., attended school there, and later received his GED. He enlisted in the Marine Corps (First Marine Division) and served three tours of duty in Vietnam.

    He was married Aug. 28, 1972, in Plymouth, Ind., to Kristi Jo Naylor. They were later divorced.

    In Indiana Mr. Scruggs was employed in real estate, specializing in farmland sales.

    He moved to Wisconsin and then to Idaho, where he married Margie Charboneau in 1982. Following their marriage, the couple moved to Minnesota; they were later divorced.

    He owned and operated Reparit, a home handyman service, and also worked as a carpenter in home construction until retiring early for health reasons in 2001.

    On July 7, 1992, he married Jill M. Eppard. The couple and their family made their home in Stewartville. Mrs. Scruggs was an employee at People's Natural Gas in Rochester for a number of years, and is currently employed by Charter House in Rochester. Mr. Scruggs was a member of Grace Evangelical Free Church and was a longtime member of Alcoholics A nonymous. He enjoyed fishing, racquetball and golf, and was a fan of the Chicago Cubs.

    He is survived by his wife; 10 children, two sons from a previous marriage, Phil Jr. (Stacy) of Brookston, Ind., Dan (Rena) of Rochester, his wife's two sons from a previous marriage, Jake (Molly) Johnson and Joshua Johnson, both of Rochester, and Zach, Luke, Isaiah, Katie, Emily and Sophie, all at home in Stewartville; a sister, Jan (Mitch) Resnick of South Hadley, Mass.; and four gandchildren. Other survivors include his mother-in-law, Kaye Eppard of Rochester.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Rosemary (Taber) Scruggs.

    Final arrangements entrusted to Griffin-Gray Funeral Home of Stewartville.

    The funeral for Phillip D. Scruggs was Saturday, August 9th, at Grace Evangelical Free Church in Stewartville, with the Rev. Gary Seaquist and Pastor Andrew Langseth co-officiating.

    Interment of ashes was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

She had a brain aneurism and resulted in her being an invilid for the rest of her life.

    PLYMOUTH - Kristi Jo (Naylor) Scruggs, 56, of 222 Parkview Street, Plymouth, Indiana, passed away at 11:40 a.m. on Friday, May 2, 2008, in Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home, Plymouth.

    Kristi was born on January 1, 1952, in Burlington, Iowa, to Donald and Grayce Naylor.

    Kristi is survived by her sons, Phillip and Stacy Scruggs of Brookston, Indiana, and Daniel and Rena Scruggs of Stewartville, Minnesota; her grandsons, Chaz Scruggs, Koby Scruggs and Keagen Scruggs of Brookston; her brothers, Ronald and Susan Naylor of Muncie, Indiana, Michael and Anne Naylor of Swansea, Illinois, Kent and Gail Naylor of Plymouth, Mark and Jeannie Naylor of Winchester, Virginia; her aunt, Virginia Urman of Saint Cloud, Minnesota; and by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

    Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2008, at 11:30 a.m. in the First Presbyterian Church, Plymouth with the Rev. Dr. Ronald Naylor officiating.

    Friends will be received at 10:00 a.m. in the church until time of services at 11:30 a.m.

    A private interment will follow at New Oak Hill Cemetery.

    Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
