Money Tree Presented To Ruth Bodey

Observes 25 Years In Local Business

Customers and friends of Mrs. clifton Bodey presented her with a money tree on Tuesday in observance of her 25th anniversary as owner and manager of the Silhouette Beauty Salon at 313 N. Main St., in Culver.

Ruth, as she is more familiarly known by her many friends, graduated from Culver High School and took the training for her work at the Tobias Beauty School in South Bend. Following graduation she worked for a year for Cleta Easterday, now Mrs. Robert Berger, who operated a beauty shop on the second floor of the Bank Building.

After a year Mrs. Bodey rented two rooms from Lena Med- bourn, at the present location on North Main St., and started her own shop on April 9 1938. In 1940 Mr. and Mrs. Bodey purchased the property from Miss Medbourn and have also made their home there since that time.

Mrs. Bodey is a charter member of the Plymouth Unit 51 of the Indiana Hairdressers and Cosmetologists Association. Mr. and Mrs. Bodey are members of the Culver Methodist Church and have one daughter, Mrs. Jack Rich, who resides in Peru.

In discussing her experiences Mrs. Bodey stated, "There have been many changes made in beauty work since I started 25 years ago." In this day of beehive and pouf styles, that is certainly not hard to believe.

The Citizen also extends congratulations to Mrs. Bodey - 1963 - Apr. 19
