Gerard P. Gidley Family  



Gerard Paul "Jerry" Gidgley and his wife Shirley and sons, Mark and Brian, moved to Plymouth in 1966. Jerry came to be the president of Marshall County Bank, moving here from Chillicothe, Missouri where he had alson been in banking.

Jerry was born in St. Louis, Missouri to Bertha Paul and Stephen Gidley who owed a men's clothing store in Bonne Terre, Missouri where Jerry was raised along with five elder sisters.

Shirley Anne Menard Gidley is the only child boe to James Albin Menard and Edna Kathleen Limbaugh. She was born in Bonnie Terre, Missouri. Her father was a railroad conductor and brakeman.

Having graduated from the University of Missouri and spending time in the Army and the Air Force, Jerry started to work with the Federal Depositors Insance Corporation. His total time in banking is 35 years. Shirley and Jerry were married in Bonnie Terre on June 11, 1955 and moved to Bloomsdale, Missouri where Jerry went into banking. James Mark and Timothy Brian. Another move in 1959 took them to Chillicothe, Missouri.

Shirley completed her education at St. Mary-of-the-Woods College in Terre Haute. She has taught, been active in politics as the cie-chair of Marshall County, district-chair of the second and thrid districts, and a member of the state democratic committe. She is currently the executive director of the United Way of Marshall County. Both sons were educated in the local school system and were graduated from St. Joseph College in Rensselaer. Both have entered the banking and financial world.

Mark married Debroah Ann Delp and they have one son, Matthew Albin Gidley. They live on West 14th Road. Brian is single and lives in Chicago, Illinois. Shirley's mother, Edna moved to plymouth in 1977. Shirley A. Gidley
