    Carol Sue Troester of Culver, Indiana passed away on Jan. 2, 2024, after a well-fought battle with ovarian cancer

    The daughter of Wayne and Ruth Kline, she cherished growing up on the family farm in Culver which instilled in her a love of the land, the natural world and all creatures great and small.

    Carol was a wonderful person, loving wife and caring mother. With a big heart and positive outlook, she made many friends over the years.

    Her adventurous spirit led her to San Diego where she met her husband of 62 years, Richard from LaPorte. They spent 30 years there while raising their daughters and making lifelong friends. They also lived in East Tennessee for 15 years and moved back to Carol's strong family roots in Culver 9 years ago.

    Her gregarious and nurturing personality drove her deep love for family and friends, cooking and entertaining, while her competitive streak fueled her passion for many years of tennis playing. Her radiant smile and zest for life will surely never be forgotten!

    She is survived by husband Richard Troester, daughters Kelly Troester living in Brooklyn, New York, Anne Sullivan living in Mill Valley, California, son-in-law Sean Sullivan, grand-daughter Delaney Sullivan, brother Robert Kline and sister-in-law Carolyn Kline of Culver and sister Patricia (Kline) Mann living in Beaufort, South Carolina. Also, nephew Christopher Kline of Culver and niece Dr. Jennifer (Kline) Morgan of Carmel, Indiana.

    A reception will be held at Wesley Methodist Church, 511 School St., Culver, from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2024.
