Visitation for Dr. Evelyn B. Anderson, 74, of Kankakee, will be from 9 a.m. Saturday until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Clancy-Gernon-Hertz Funeral Home, west Kankakee.

Rev. Richard Pighini will officiate.

Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Bourbonnais. Memorials may be made to the Anderson Library at Riverside Medical Center.

She died Monday (Feb. 26, 2007) at her home.

Dr. Anderson was a retired physician, specializing in dermatology from 1967 to 1996.

She was born Nov. 28, 1932, in Shreveport, La., the daughter of Robert and Mildred Castle Carney.

Her husband, Dr. Eugene G. Anderson, whom she married April 27, 1957, in New Orleans, La., died Nov. 1, 2000.

She was a graduate of LSU College and Medical School. She did her internship and residency at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. She was one of the first female physicians in the area.

She was a member of the Crusaders. She helped establish the Anderson Medical Library at Riverside Medical Center. She enjoyed gardening and antiquing and loved opera.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Commander Dr. Nils and Terry Anderson of Lindenhurst, Ian and Dr. Kathy Anderson of Carmel, Ind.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Eve and Dr. Michael Hargrave of Urbana, Felice and Paul Wilson of Hoffman Estates, Holly Anderson of Evansville, Ind.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

One sister, Mildred Musgrave, is deceased.
