CULVER - Herschel L. Rector, 83, of 704 Academy Road, died at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend.

Mr. Rector was a retired school teacher.

He was born May 31, 1905, in Staunton, Ind., coming to Culver in 1950.

On Nov. 28, 1929, at Covington, Ind., he married Naomi Robbins.

She died July 11, 1987.

Surviving is a nephew, Charles Rector of Terre Haute, Ind.

He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Bonine Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Culver Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home. - South Bend Tribune Dec 28, 1988

Naomi Rector CULVER - Services for Naomi Rector, 80, of 704 Academy Road, who died at 2 a.m. Saturday in Miller's Merry Manor, Culver, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Bonine Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Culver 'Masonic Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made to Culver-Union Twp. Emergency Medical Service or the American Lung Association.

Mrs. Rector was a retired schoolteacher, having taught in Shelburn, Peru and Leitersford; all in Indiana.

She was born Aug. 16, 1906, in Shelburn, Ind., and moved to Culver in 1950.

On Nov. 28, 1929, in Covington, Ind., she married Herschel L. Rector, who survives.
