Thomas M. Morris, Sr., 85, Logansport, died Thursday, October 16, 2003.
He was born on October 18, 1917 in Thornhope, IN to Frank T. and Effie (Million) Morris.
He married Margaret L. Jones on October 23, 1940, who survives.
Mr. Morris was the founder and Chief Executive Officer of T.M. Morris Manufacturing Company.
Very active in the community, Mr. Morris was a member and past president of the Logansport Rotary Club. He was also
a member of the Maxinkuckee Country Club, Culver and the Glen Eagle Country Club in Naples, FL. He was also a life
member of the Logansport Elks Lodge, BPOE #66. Mr. Morris was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church for over
50 years, where he served as deacon, elder and trustee.
A U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, with active service in Germany, Mr. Morris served his country after the war as
commander in the Logansport U.S. Army Reserve Unit. A recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart, he retired with
the rank of Major. Mr. Morris was also a member of the American Legion Post 60 and the 14th Armored Division Association.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 20 at Calvary Presbyterian Church with Rev. Douglas Mankell officiating.
Visitation: noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, October 19 at Kroeger Funeral Home, Logansport and at the church one hour prior to
services Monday. Burial: Mt. Hope Cemetery with full Military Graveside Honors.
Survivors: wife, Margaret L. Morris son and daughter-in-law, Thomas M., Jr. and Ilse Morris, Logansport 2 granddaughters,
Erika and Kendra Morris sisters-in-law, Jeanne Morris and Connie Jones both of Logansport nephew, Robert Shanteau,
St. Louis, MO 2 nieces, Michele Hillis and Melissa Closson both of Logansport and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his 2 brothers, John Morris and Ted Morris and sister, Betty Jean Lambert. Memorial
