1920 - Aug 18 - NOTICE TO FORD OWNERS

    Ihe Rudd Motor Co. of Plymouth has opened a branch salesroom and supply department in Culver where owners of Ford cars can get all parts and accessories obtainable at the Plymouth station.

    The company is establishing this branch for the better accommodation of Ford users in this territory and all sales and service will be at standard Ford prices.

    The Culver branch has the authorized agency for all Ford products, including tractors, trucks and cars, in Union township and the west part of West and Green townships.

    They will carry a complete line of Ford parts and accessories.

    If you have Ford troubles see Mr A. R. McKesson, the local manager.

1923 - Oct 10 - ...Dan Burkett... Mr. Burkett has been employed at the McKesson Garage for the past two years. He has lived in the community for the past five years...

1924 - Jun 25 - Will Sell Fords
    Raymond Mikesell has been engaged by A. E. McKesson to act as Ford saleman in this territory in the Future. The deal was closed last Sunday.

    Raymond Mikesell takes the place of his brother, Howard who has accepted the position of manager of the A & P store.

    The confectionary across from the depot will continue to operate under the guidence of Mr. Mikesell for the remaining months of the summer.


1924 - Novemebr 12 - Howard Mikesell relinquished his claims in the managership of the local A. & P. store Monday afternoon... Mr. Mikesell will again sell Fords for the McKesson Garage and gandle insurance work.

1924 - Nov. 19 - New Office Room BUilt in Garage
    The McKesson Garage is the proud owner of a new office room which has recently been built. The new addition is in the ceneter of the building and allows access to the parts room qithout stepping out in the main garage. It will undoubtedly make things more convenient at the garage to say nothing of the better appearance.


Jan 28 - 1925 - Floyd Kiebert of Plymouth has accepted a position with the McKesson Garage as salesman. He will sell Ford cars. He has been in an automobile accssory store in Plymouth until just recently when he sold the business.

1925 - Feb 11 - Cash Disaapears from McKesson Garage Till
    ABout eight dollars were missing from the cash drawer of the McKesson Garage last Monday morning when A. R. McKesson opened his place of business.

    Mr. McKesson had left about ten dollars in the till the night before to be used for change on Monday morning.

    Sometime during the night or arly morning, eight of those cart wheels disappeared. A. R. McKesson is unable to offer any solution to the dissappearance.

    No traces of any intrustion could be found excepr that a one cent slae had been rung up on the register. No one-cent sale had been made by Mr. McKesson's employees.


1925 - April 1- Clurel Mikesell began working as Ford salesman for A. R. McKesson local ford dealer

1925 - Apr. 22 - New Sidewalk Built on Jefferson Street - During the past weekm a new sidewalk has been put in from McKesson FOrd Agency to the Hawkins elevator...

1925 - Sep 9 - New Ford Touring Car On DIsplay At McKesson's
    The new model of Ford Car, the one that has been heralded by city newspapers as the "reformation", can now [be] seen at the McKesson Garage.

    Mr. McKesson has driven one here from Chicago to show the people of this city, and it ccan be seen for the rest of this week in the show room.

    Kn Monday however, Mr. McKesson relinquishes all claims to the car as Lester Houghton has bought it and will be the first Culver man to own one of the new models.


1925 - Oct 21 - Joe Schweidler Takes Carge of Repair Work
    Joe Schweidler has accepted a position with A. R. McKesson and will take charge of the repair department of the Authorized Ford Dealer's establishment.

    This announcement was made public the first of the week and will become effective in the very near future.

    Mr. Schweidler has had much experience in the gargae business. He was until just recently associated with his brother in the running of the Lake Shore Garage, where his services were uch in damand in this work.

    Donald Behmer has reigned from the McKesson Garage and it is said that he has accepted a position in a South Bend firm


1927 - Feb 16 - Carload of Cars Monday; All Gone by Saturday - AN unuasual turnover of cars was experienced by the McKesson garage last week when a carload of FOrds was unloaded Monday and not a one was left by Saturday evening. Four used cars were sold besides, making quite a busy week for A. R. McKesson and co-workers.

1927 - Jul 13 - McKesson Puts Sity New Cars Into traffic - During the first six months of the present year, A. R. McKesson local Ford dealer, has increased local traffic with sixty-five used cars as well. He reports this to be an increase of twenty-five percent over last year. Utmight be mentioned also that Mr. McKesson has advertised constantly in the Citizen during that time.

1927- Aug 31 - McKesson Now Offical A.A.A. Service Station - The McKesson garage is now listed as an offical service station of the American Automobile Association of which the Hoosier Motor CLub is a branch. This means that the garage has met certain qualifications of that organisazation and will be listed in all their publication as one of the state wide chain of recommended stations

1927 - Nov. 2 - Behmer Joins McKesson Garage as Service Man
    Donald Behmer has closed his garage at the Behmer corner and will start work in the service separtment of the A. R> McKesson garage next Monday.

    Behmer is well known in this communinty and gives the McKesson garage an imposing array of echanical skill.


1928 - Oct 3 - Adds New Equipment - Continuing his policy of complete service for all makes of cars, A. R. McKesson has added a new machine to his repair department. It is a glass grinding machine that allows all windshields and other glass parts to be fitted at once in Culver. The machine has three parts: a grinder, a polisher and a finisher.

1928, Dec. 28 - A. R. McKesson Sells Interest in Garage
    A transaction was completed this oring whereby A.. R. McKesson sold his Ford garage here to his brother Lowell McKesson.

    A. R. McKesson has been in business here since 1920 and has extablished himself as one of the progressive business men of the town and he will be missed in business circles.

    Lowell McKesson has been associated with his brother for several years and has a thorough knowledge of the business.

    A. R. McKesson has not announced any definite plans for the futur but expects to take a well earned vacation in Flordia for the winter.


1929 - May 29 - Enlarge Forces - Increased business has necessitated A. R. McKesson to increase his corps of mechanics in his service department. Ira Cromley, who is an experienced mechanic, has beem added to the McKessom Staff

1931 - dec. 31 the last of a number of pieces of new equipment being installed in the A. R. McKesson garage will be ready for use Jan. 2, enabling the garage to do all kinds of body and fender repairing and painting

1943 - Apr 28 - A. R. McKesson has purchased from Mrs. Bertha Hayes, the garage building on Lake Shore Dr. which his business has been occupying for the past few years.
