    Robert Beck dies at 80
      Former Culver resident, Robert Beck, 80 of Logansport, died June 18 [1998] in his home.

      The son of Joseph and Edna Raber Beck, he was born July 3, 1917 in Logansport.

      On Jan. 9, 1938, he married Garnette Willis who preceded him in death.

      Mr. Beck was a long time Logansport businessman. He assisted in the development of the Logansport Municipal Airport and helped in numerous civic projects. He was a member of the Elks, a 50-year member of the Tipton Lodge, Indianapolis Scottish Rite, Logansport Shrine Club and Murat Shrine.

      Survivors include three sons, Ron Beck, Logansport, Charles Beck, Phoenix, Ariz., and Keith Beck, Thomasville, Ga.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Alice Aimons, Logansport and Geraldine Hoover, Key West, Fla.

      Kroeger Funeral Home, Logansport, was in charge of arrangements. A memorial service was held last Tuesday in Mount Hope Cemetery. Tipton Masonic Lodge conducted a memorial service in conjunction with the funeral service.

      Memorials may be made to any charity.

      A memorial service for Robert L. Beck, 80, of Logansport, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Mount Hope Cemetery Chapel.

      The Tipton Masonic Lodge will conduct a service in conjunction with the memorial service.

      Mr. Beck died Thursday, June 18, 1998, at his residence.

      Born July 3, 1917, in Logansport, he was the son of Joseph and Edna Raber Beck.

      On Jan. 9, 1938, he was married to Garnette Willis, who preceded in death.

      A lifelong Logansport businessman, Mr. Beck assisted in the development of the Logansport Municipal Airport and helped in numerous civic projects.

      He was a member o of the Elks Lodge; 50-year member of the Tipton Lodge, Indianapolis Scottish Rite, Logansport Shrine Club and the Murat Shrine.

      Surviving are three sons, Ron Beck, Logansport, Charles Beck, Phoenix, and Keith Beck, Thomasville, Ga.; two sisters, Alice Simons, Logansport, and Geraldine Hoover, Key West, Fla.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. One infant daughter, Barbara, and one brother, Joseph, preceded in death.

      There will be no visitation.

      In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.

    ROCKFIELD, Jan. 12. Announcement is made of the marriage of Garnette J. Willis to Robert LeRoy Beck, of Logansport.

    The ceremony took place Sunday, Jan. 9, at the Presbyterian manse in Rockfleld, with the Rev. Herbert Hugo officiating.

    The couple will reside in Logansport.

    Garnette Beck A memorial service for former Logansport resident Garnette Beck, 78, Stuart, Fla., will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the Mount Hope Cemetery Chapel.

    Mrs. Beck died Thursday at her residence. Born Sept. 11, 1915, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Adrian and Emma Wright Willis.

    On Jan. 9, 1938, she was married to Robert L. Beck, who survives.

    Mrs. Beck, a homemaker, was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and Culver United Methodist Church.

    Also surviving are three sons, Ronald L., Logansport, Charles R., Scottsdale, Ariz., and Keith A., Grand Rapids, Mich.; one sister, Emma Jean Rice, San Antonio, Texas; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

    One daughter, one sister and two brothers preceded in death.
