    Marion E. Jones CULVER - Marion. E. Jones, 78, of 504 E. Washington St., died at 3:05 p.m. Tuesday in Parkview Hospital, Plymouth, after a long illness.

    He was born Nov. 25, 1888, in Culver where he lived most of his life.

    Mr. Jones was a representative for Equitable Life [Assurance Society of the United States since 1932.

    On Dec. 31, 1908 he married Susie Shilling, who died in 1949. Surviving are two sons, Wendell M. of Plymouth, Jack T. of Culver; a daughter, Mrs. Wayne (Mary Amanda) Kemp of Plymouth; a sister, Mrs. Mary Bloom of South Bend; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

    Services are set for 2 p.m. Friday in the Culver Methodist Church with Rev. Carl Q. Baker, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Culver Masonic Cemetery.

    Mrs. Marion Jones Succumbs To Five Month Illness

    Mrs. Susie (Shilling) Jones, age wife of Marion E. Jones, died here last Thursday evening at the Shilling Cottage on the south shore of the lake where she had been spending some time following a recent trip to the hospital. Although she had been quite ill for approximately five months she had spent a pleasant day with members of the family, becoming critically ill about 6 p. m. on the day of her death.

    Familiarly known to her many friends as Sue, she had contributed to many activities and groups throughout the community where she had lived for the past 41 years.

    She was born in Knox, Ind., August 30, 1890.

    Surviving are her husband and one daughter, Mary Amanda Hoffman, Culver; two sons, Wendell M. Jones, Plymouth, Ind.; and Jack T. Jones of Homestead, Pa.; her father, Schuyler C. Shilling of Culver; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Osborn, Mrs. Clara Alleman, and Mrs. Margaret Adams all of Culver: one brother, Oliver Shilling, Riverside, Calif; five grandchildren; two nephews, and one niece.

    She was a member of the Methodist Church where funeral services were held Sunday afternoon with Rev. Quentin Hand conductthe services.
