    Homer and Esma lived in Toledo, Ohio and Lafayette, Indiana before moving to Culver, Indiana in 1922.

    He was employed at the Culver Military Academy Uniform Department as a uniform designer, pattern maker and tailor. - On the CMA staff since January 1, 1922, he worked in the tailor shop and uniform department and became manager of the uniform department in 1958, upon retirement of Val F. Herrmann. Homer Kemple retired in 1960

    In the early 1930's he left the Academy to manage the Shell gasoline station and later built a Philips 66 directly across the street from the Shell station. In the late '30s, Homer returned to the Academy Tailor Shop.

      Karen L. Coby 74, Rochester,, passed away at 11:02 a.m. Wednesday Nov. 29, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka.

      She was born on June 15, 1943 in Plymouth, the daughter of Kenneth and Mary Belle (Osborn) Kemple.

      On Jan. 14, 1967 in Rochester, she married Jay A. Coby and he survives.

      Mrs. Coby retired from First Federal Savings Bank. She had been a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Culver, Burton/Richland Center United Methodist Church and part of the Chain Gang at the Akron Public Library. In her spare time she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, visiting Indiana State Parks, fishing, water painting and after retiring enjoyed traveling.

      Survivors include her husband, Jay L. Coby, Rochester, son, John Coby and significant other, Oneida Fehring, Elgin, Ill., sisters, Mary Ann and husband Jim Rowe, Culver, Judy and husband Daryl Fisher, Plymouth, brother, Rodney Kemple, Logansport and several nieces and nephews.

      She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Cindy Geiger.

    Marjorie Ann Kemple, 80 of Culver, Indiana, died at 11:20AM on February 21, 2009 at Miller's Merry Manor in Culver, Indiana.

    Marjorie was born to Homer H. Kemple and Mary Esma Pope on July 22, 1928 in Culver, Indiana. She never married.

    After graduating from Culver High School, she worked as a projectionist at the El Rancho Theater. Marjorie loved animals and really enjoyed swimming in Lake Maxinkuckee. She was a member of Grace United Church of Christ in Culver.

    Marjorie is survived by her Sister - Mary Louise Krieg of Culver, Indiana, Sister-in-law - Sue Kemple of Culver, Indiana, and many Nieces & Nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers - Fritz Kemple, Kenneth Kemple, and Arthur Kemple.

    Visitation will be at the Bonine-Odom Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 24, 2009 from 5:00 - 8:00PM EDT and from 10:00 - 11:00AM on Wednesday, Feb 25, 2009. Rev. Robin Keating will officiate the service which will take place at 11:00AM on February 25, 2009 at Bonine-Odom Funeral Home, Culver, Indiana.

    Interment will follow at the Culver Masonic Cemetery in Culver, Indiana. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or the Grace United Church of Christ in Culver.
