William H. Leighty, aged 75, of 511 South Eddy street, died in St. Joseph hospital at 5:10 o'clock Friday afternoon after two days' illness with apoplexy. He was born in Dayton, O., Jan. 9, 1861, and came here 18 years ago from Culver, Ind. He leaves four daughters, Mrs. Grace Rogers, of Indianapolis; Mrs. Blanche Lucy, of Mishawaka, and Mrs. Ines Burk and Mrs. Arville Hankins, of this city; a son, Lynn Leighty, of this city; and three brothers, Charles Leighty, of California; Albert Leighty, of Winamac, Ind., and Mal Leighty of this city. The body will lie Sunday in the Lynn Leighty residence, 621 South Fellows street, and the funeral will take place there at 3:30 o'clock Monday afternoon. Rev. G. A. Trodie, pastor of River Park Methodist Episcopal church, will officiate and burial will be in North Union Cemetery eight miles south of Plymouth, Ind.- South Bend Tribune, Feb 1. 1936
