Nelson Equipment Company Starts Business Here
Culver extends a hearty welcom to an enterprising young business man, Maurcie Nelson,
who, on Monday took over the Orner Hook Implement Store on Lake Shore Drive and
will operate the establishment under the name of Nelson Equipment Company.
Mr. Nelson resignes as manger of the Jones Implement Company in Rochester, which he
started as bookeeper in 1945, upon his return from the Army, to take over the business
conducted by Omer Hook
until his death on July 30.
The Nelson Equipment Company will specialize in the International Harvester line of farm
machinery, appliances and trucks.
In addition, it will cary on a complete service and parts department
Maurice Nelson was born in Rochester byt was reared in Argos. He entered military service
from Marshall County in 1941 and served 3 1/2 years in the Army.
He is a member of the Rochester post of the American Legion and Lodge No. 1107 of the
Moose at Roshester.
Mrs Nelson is the former Cleta Miller of Argos, is a granddaughter of Mrs. Clem MIller of Culver
The Nelsons have three fine children: Jerry 8; Linda Sue 5; and Diane K 4
They are members of the Christain Church in Argos
Mr. Nelson known as Maurice to his friends, is commuting for the present but will move with
his family to Culver just as soon as the can sell their home in Rochester.
