Omer Roy HOOK, 46, formerly of Kewanna, died suddenly Thursday evening of a heart attack at his home in Culver. He was owner and
operator of the Van Meter Implement Company in Culver.
He was a resident of Kewanna for 10 years before moving to Culver in 1946. In January of this year he purchased the Van Meter company,
a farm implement agency.
He was a native of Burnettsville where he was born on Dec. 9, 1906.
Active in Masonic work, Hook was a past master of the Kewanna Masonic Lodge and a member of the Culver Masonic Lodge. He also was a
member of the Culver Methodist Church.
Surviving are the widow, Geneva [HOOK]; three daughters, Mrs. Eleanor YELTON of Culver, Mrs. Marilyn McLANE of Indianapolis, and Miss
Virginia HOOK, at home; a son, John Robert HOOK at home; three sisters, Mrs. Charles SUITERS and Mrs.Viola DAVIS, both of
Burnettsville, and Mrs. Edgar LEIGH of Indianapolis; three brothers, Benjamin HOOK of Walton and John and Delmar HOOK, both of
Burnettsville, and two grandchildren.
Final rites will be held at 2 o’clock DST Sunday afternoon at the Culver Methodist Church, Dr. Hardigg SEXTON officiating. Burial
will be in Culver Cemetery with members of the Culver Masonic Lodge conducting graveside rites.
