1976 - The Pennsylvania Railroad track was abandoned and lot owners on South Street and the west side of the lake purchased the right-of-way between their property and the lake.

1944 - Nov 1 - Sunday Fire
    The Fire department was called to the Leo Warren home, formerly owned by D. M. Schueren on Winfield Stree, Sunday monring when a defective flue started a blaze on the second floor of the dwelling. About $200 damafe was caused to the ceiling of the first story and wall and floor of the second story according to Fire Chief Dave Burns.

The Maxinkuckee West Side Property Owners, Inc. was formed to procure and buy up the railroad prperty along the shore of Lake Maxinkuckee from Plymouth St. to the end of South Street ending at West Shore. Dr.

    They tore the old house down and built a new one.

    Lasco, who developed the Doubletree Lake Estates subdivision a Winfield and in June 2004 a group of local businessmen has purchased the Doubletree Lake Estates subdivision from developer David Lasco. Kenneth Matney and Tony Meyer are the managing members of Doubletree Lake Estates LLC, which bought the developments on either side of Randolph Street from Lasco who sold the development because he wants to "maximize our resources, monetarily and in terms of time with the family".
