Leo W. WARREN, 83, of 510 Peru Court, Culver died at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in Miller’s Merry Manor, Culver , following an extended illness.

He was born Nov. 23, 1900 near Knox to Adreal and Amanda WISER WARREN. He lived in Culver most of his life. He was married Aug. 24, 1927 to Faith Esther WARMBROD; she died in 1928. He married Cleo GARN on Feb. 5, 1942; she died in 1979. He was retired from Culver Street Department and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Culver American Legion and the Finney-Shilling VFW.

Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Roland (Sarah) BEHNKE, Culver ; Mrs. Gene (Wanda) MILLER, Culver ; Mrs. Ray (Charlene) ARTHURHUlTZ, Culver ; Mrs. Lloyd (Margaret) NEWLAND, Tekonsha, Mich.; Mrs. John (Mary) WOLVERTON, Rt. 2, Culver , and June GARN, Culver ; a son, Herbert GARN, Culver several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and three brothers, Herschel, Steven and Edward WARREN, all of South Bend. Ten brothers and sisters preceded in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Bonine Funeral Home, Culver .

Burial will be in Zion Cemetery, Culver , where the VFW will conduct graveside rites.

Friends may call after2 p.m. Thursday. Memorials may be made to the Wesley United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Cleo (McCLANE) GARN WARREN, 82, Culver , died at 2 p.m. Sunday in her residence after a three-week illness. Mrs. Warren was born Sept. 6, 1897 in Knoxville, Tenn., to Joseph and Ada FOSTER McCLANE. She had lived in the Culver area most of her life. She was first married to Charles GARN on Dec. 30, 1916 in Plymouth. He died in 1941. She married Leo W. WARREN in 1942; he survives. She was a member of the Culver Wesley United Methodist church and a charter member of the W. A. Fleet American Legion Auxiliary.

Surviving with the husband are five daughers, Mrs. Ray (Charlene) ARTHURHOLTZ, Culver ; Mrs. Lloyd (Margaret) NEWLAND, Tekonsha, Mich.; Mrs. John (Mary) WOLVERTON, Culver ; Miss June GARN, Culver , and Mrs. Ned (Wanda) DAVIS, Culver ; a son, Herbert S. GARN, Culver ; three sisters, Mrs. ulee BENKO, South Bend; Mrs. Ordella KOWATCH, South Bend, and Mrs. Jeanette KYLE, Mishawaka; four brothers, Wenton [McCLANE], South Bend; Archie and Clarence [McCLANE], Elkhart, and Roger [McCLANE], Belair, Fla.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a step-daughter, Mrs. Roland (Sarah) BEHNKE, Culver . Four children, a brother and a sister preceded in death. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Wesley United Methodist church, Culver , with the Rev. Donald BOWMAN officiating.

Burial will be in the Culver Masonic cemetery. Friends may call at the Bonine funeral home, Culver , after 2 p.m. Tuesday and until noon on Wednesday and at the church until services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wesley United Methodist church.
