...Clayton and Frieda Schroeder Gottschalk were parents of five children,...Robert, Born in Bourbon November 7, 1917 attended and graduated from Bourbon High School. He is a graduate of Purdue Agricultural short course, served with the 80^th Infrantry Divison, and managed the Bourbon Lumber Company which he now owns. He is engaged as a general and dairy farmer. They family lived in Marshall County.

Robert grew up in the same area and went to the same church as Leona Mast [Luther Mast Family pg. 292 d/o Luther and Mary (Zimmerman) Mast]. They both attended St. Paul 's Evangelical Reformed Church and were married December 31, 1942.

They had four children: Richard, Linda, Susan and Roger. Richard was married to Kathy Holzworth and they have a son, Chad. Susan married David Metheny. Linda married Allen Robinson.
