    They moved to this location from the W. mill street address in late Oct. and Held an open house around on Nov. 4 & 5 1960.

      He retired in 1979, but retained ownership of the building until 1993.

    BOETSMA HOME FURNISHINGS RECEIVES MARKETING A WARD

    Boc tsma Home Furnishing of Culver was awarded a 'Best Service Dealer" citation last Friday for it's creative marketing program.

    The "Best Service Dealer Award" is a national recognition by General Electric Credit Corporation of retailer's who use innovative method's of direct mail marketing to their customersin connection with advertising promotion efforts using other media. Joe Boersma, president of the store, received the plaque from James Richey Branch Manager for GE Credit in the Culver area. "We are proud that we have been able tn participate in helping make the direct mail sector of your total advertising program such an outstanding success." Mr. Ritchey said. He added that G E Credit has put it's compuuterized credit promontioon severives at the disposal of retailers throughout the country on a planned monthly basis and that Boetsma Home Fzurnishings has made outstanding use of these sevices in it total promotion efforts to its customers.

    New Manager At Boetsma’s
      Culver - Larry Boetsma is now in his third week as the new manager of Boetsma Home Furnishings, Culver.

      His dad, Joe, formerly operated the business, which has been in the same location on West Jefferson since 1961.

      Larry said that he wished his dad well in his retirement. He also stated that various changes in the operation are being made and he hopes the old and new customers will drop by for coffee and a chat or just to browse.

      One important change will be in the new expanded price range. Larry said, “In addition to current styles and price ranges, we are adding more affordable quality furniture.”

      He stated that although the ho u rs will remain the same, he will be available in the evening s by appointment A new master purchase plan has also been instituted. When you’re thinking of purchasing new furniture, carpeting or accessories, there’s no need to leave town.

    Since from about 2008 this property has been up for tax sale several times and been redeemed. It on tax sale as such on 21 Oct 2013, 20 Apr 2014 and the a certificate sale on 23 Apr. 2015 no offical owner has been named.
