Palace Theater / Hayes Theatre - 612 Lakeshore Dr
1931 jul 22 - A financially responsible party has leased the Hayes Building
and is transforming it into a modern moving picture house. It is expected that the new theatre
ill be open in three weeks for the presentation of sound pictures.
Its unclear if there were 2 "Hayes buildings at this time - the
Hayes Building
down the block futher to the east had been a multi-business building for several years, a resturant
dance hall etc. It burned in Dec. 1931

1931, Sep 16 - The Palace Theater which opened a few weeks ago
opposite the depot, has closed its doors
1932 - Mar 9 - To Open Theatre Here - It is reportes that a North Judson man has leased the
Hayes Threatre, oppsote the depot, and will install new moving picture equipment. No date
has been announced for the opening of the theatre,
June 20, 1932— One of the hardest electrical storms this community has had in years
struck this community Saturday. One lightning bolt struck the Palace Theatre and
burned out one of the projection machines
