Dean E. Jones March 5, 1929 — April 22, 2014


    Dean E. Jones, 85 of Rochester formerly of Kewanna, passed away at 6:50 a.m., Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.

    Born March 5, 1929 in Huntington County, he was the son of the late Virgil and Audra (Bardsley) Jones.

    On May 9, 1950 in Warren, Indiana, he married Linda Bashaw. She survives.

    He was a 1947 Salomonia High School graduate.

    Dean was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in WWII.

    Dean was a retired truck driver. He also formerly worked for Nickel Plate Railroad for more than 15 years. He and his wife Linda also formerly owned and operated the Laundromat in Kewanna.

    He enjoyed fishing and camping as a favorite pastime.

    Survivors include his wife, Linda Jones of Rochester, two sons, Ronald D. Jones (Bobbie) of Kewanna and Steven L. Jones (Nancy) of Virginia Beach, two sisters, Naomi Martin and Velma Souers, both of Bluffton, 8 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

    He was also preceded in death by a brother.

    Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday April 26, 2014 at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home, Kewanna Chapel with Pastor Aaron McCombs officiating.

    Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, April 25 at the funeral home.

    Burial with Military Rites will be at Kewanna Citizens IOOF Cemetery.

Etheree Linda Jones August 26, 1930 — February 26, 2016
    Etheree Linda Jones, 85, of Rochester formerly of Kewanna, passed away at 12:50 a.m., Friday, February 26, 2016 at Life Care Center in Rochester. Born August 26, 1930 in Langley, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Lewis H. and Eunice (Graves) Bashaw. On May 9, 1950 in Warren, Indiana, she married Dean E. Jones. He preceded her in death April 22, 2014.

    She was a 1949 Langley High School graduate.

    Linda was a former realtor and tax preparer. She and her husband Dean formerly owned and operated the Kewanna and Culver Laundry Mats.

    Linda enjoyed sewing, fishing, gardening and camping.

    Survivors include her two sons, Ronald D. Jones (Bobbie) of Kewanna and Steven L. Jones (Nancy) of Virginia Beach, sister, Wanda Aldred of Shoals, sisters in law, Naomi Martin and Velma Souers both of Bluffton, 8 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

    She was also preceded in death by an infant brother and sister, Elois Drain.

    Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home, Kewanna Chapel with Pastor Aaron McCombs officiating.

    Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at the funeral home.

    Burial will be at Kewanna Citizens IOOF Cemetery.

    Memorial contributions may be made to the American Alzheimer’s Association.
