Kathryn “Kate” I. May  



Kathryn “Kate” I. May, 86, of Culver passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at the Community Hospital North in Indianapolis. Kate was born to Charles F. and Fern (Marsh) Triplet, Sr., on March 6, 1928 in Culver, Indiana. She was a 1946 graduate of Culver High School. She married her high school love, Robert E. May on September 13, 1947 at Grace United Church of Christ in Culver. Together they raised 2 sons. After graduating, Kate worked at Meck in Plymouth and at the Culver Inn. As a hobby, she enjoyed gardening. She and Bob purchased the Lakeview Tavern in the 50’s and operated it for over 40 years. Kate was a superb bowler, having been on a state titled team. Kate was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Betty McKee, and her two brothers, Charles F. Triplet, Jr. and Paul E. Triplet. She is survived by her sons Dr. Fredrick May (Michael O’Connor) of Carmel, Indiana and Kim (Beth) May of Fort Wayne, Indiana and grandson Tyler May of Fort Wayne, Indiana. A time of visitation with Kate’s family will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2014 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the Odom Funeral Home, Culver. Funeral services will follow on Monday, December 22, 2014 at 10:00 AM with visitation one hour before the service. Burial will follow in the Burr Oak Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Humane Society of Marshall County in memory of Kate and her beloved Pug, Tasha.
