Beaber Heirs Enter Suit Against Husband
A suit to determine the ownership of mortages and certificates of deposits of
the late Mrs. Anna Beaver was started in the Cass Circuit court before Special
Judge Cole of Peru yeserday.
The estate left is valued at $25,000. The will directed the disposal of cetain
moneys and mortages but after her death it is alleged that these could not be
found among the effects by Logansport Loan and Trust compant executors of the
estate>
They were in the possession of husband hristopher Beaber and William Martin. These
men set ip the claim that the certificates of depost and mortages were given to

Judge Cole Gives Decision In Important Local Case
Judge Cole of Peru was on the bench of the Cass Circuit Court this morning long enough
to give his decision in the suit of the Loganpsort Loan & Tust against C. C. Beaber and
his stepson William Martin, to recover a large amount of personal property of the lake
Ann Beaber, which was tried here some little time ago.
Deceased was the wife of C. C> Beaber, and died possessed of real estate worth about
%15,000 and her personal propert to the value of %7,000. FOllowing her death, the
personal property onsisting og notes, mortahes and certificates of depost and jewelery,
found in possession of the husband and soon and they laid claim to them.
The busband claimed joint ownership in the caulable papers and that a pair of diamond
earrings, valued at $300 had been buried with deceased. There was also a cameo brooch
and a watch and chain, which the son claimed as gifts.
Judge Cole's rulling was that the notes, mortages and certificates legally belonged to the
husband but that all the jewlery or its equivalent in mnoey must be turned over to the Trust
company.
The will provides that the propert shall be sold as soon as possible and the proceeds be
distributed among the surviving relatives.
Provisions of the will are now to be carried out by the Trust company and the estate
settled.
Attoroney Ben Long, who represented the Trust company, was suctodian of some of this
personal proerty belonging to Mrs. Beaber and she directed him to turn it over to her
husband after her death.
