Ermon Allen, Former Culver Resident, Dies

Ermon Allen, age 76, a former resident of 210 State St., Culver, died Monday at his home in Hyde Park, N.Y.

Mr. Allen was horn in 1880 and lived in Culver for several years where he operated a Sporting Goods Store.

Following the death of his wife, Gladys Ann Piaschall Allen, in 1959 he resided in Rochester. Ind., for awhile before moving to Hyde Park.

Surviving are a son, Paschall Allen, of Albany, N.Y., and three grandchildren, Pamela., Patrick and Mary Allen, all of Albany.

Graveside services are being held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, at the Rochester Odd fellow Cemetery with Rev. Hugh Stewart, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, Ofificiaiting.

Services are in charge at the Zimmerman Brothers Funeral Home at Rochester, Ind. -

Ermon ALLEN, 76, former Culver and Rochester resident, died Monday at Hyde Park, N.Y.

He had operated a sporting goods store in Culver for several years and had resided in Rochester following the death of his wife in 1959 before moving to Hyde Park.

Mr. Allen was born in 1889 and married Gladys Ann ALLEN, who died Jan. 29, 1959.

Surviving are a son, Paschall ALLEN, Albany, N.Y., and three grandchildren, Pamela, Patrick and Mary ALLEN, Albany.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Rochester I.O.O.F. cemetery with the Rev. Hugh STEWART officiating.

Mrs. Ermon Allen Found Dead In Bed on Tuesday

Mrs. Gladys Ann Allen, age, 67, wife of Ermon ALlen, was found dead yeasterday at her home at 210 Slate St.

Dr. Marshall A Stine, Marshall county coroner, stated that Mrs. Alledn died of cerebral hemorrage at approximately 7 a.m.

She was in the habit of sleeping late in the morning and Mr. Allen did not try to awaken her until about noon. WHen he could not arouse her he called the neighbors for help and a physician was summoned.

Mrs Allen was born at Talma on Jun 10, 1893, and came to Culve rin 1951 where she and her husband operated a sporting goods store. Thery retired a few years ago.

Surviving with her husband are a son Paschall, of Alabant, New York and three grand children.

The body was taken to the Easterday Fuernal home, but arrangement have not been completed. - 28 Jan. 1959

Gladys Allen

Mrs. Ermon (Gladys) ALLEN, 65, died suddenly of a heart attack at her home in Culver early Tuesday morning.

She was a former resident of Rochester.

She was born June 11, 1893, the daughter of Henry H. and Rachel Ann SIMCOKE PASCHALL, and was married to Ermon ALLEN in September, 1915, at Crown Point.

Surviving are the husband; a son, Paschall [ALLEN], Albany, N.Y., and three grandchildren. Three sisters and two brothers preceded Mrs. Allen in death.

Funeral arrangements which are being made by the Easterday funeral home, Culver, are incomplete. - Rochester News-Sentinel Thursday, January 29, 1959
