1957 - June 19 - New Merchants - This husband-and-wife buisness team, recent residents of Granger in St. Joseph county, are the new owners of the Shigely Speciality Shop at 644 Lake Shore Drive. Clyde Shively started the appliance store in 1934 after his four-year term as Culver postmaster. Mr. Poppe formerly lived in this community and attended North Bend Township High School from 1918 to 1924. He operated his own business in South Bend befer he became a heating and cooling engineer. |
