James J. “Jim” Hirchak



James J. “Jim” Hirchak, age 68, a resident of Naperville, Illinois since 1988 passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 4, 2022, in Culver, Indiana. He was born February 12, 1954, in Bayonne, New Jersey.


Jim was the beloved husband of Barbara Hirchak (nee Hojnowski), whom he married on April 1, 1978, loving father of James D. (Dana) Hirchak of Chicago, Illinois, and David M. (Caroline Boecher) Hirchak of Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was grandfather of Gwendolyn, Claire and Jane Hirchak and son of the late Joseph and Sabina (nee Orzepowski) Hirchak, dear brother of the late Karen (Tom) Obrien and the late Thomas (Francine) Hirchak, brother-in-law of Gary (Ellen Brown), a fond uncle, great uncle, and friend to many.

Jim grew up in New Jersey, was a proud graduate of Saint Peter’s University in Jersey City, and later received a Master of Science degree in Applied Psychology from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He was employed for 33 years by CPC International and retired in 2010 as Vice President of Human Resources of Corn Products Corporation.

Jim loved spending time with family and friends at his home on Lake Maxinkuckee in Culver, Indiana and treasured his home and friends in Naperville.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2022, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 South Mill Street, Naperville, Illinois.

Services will begin Thursday, July 14 at 10:15 AM from the funeral home and will proceed to an 11:00 AM Mass at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 1450 Green Trails Drive, Naperville.

Interment will be private.
