    Services set for well-known businessman

    Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Reynolds-Smith funeral home for William Halley Robinson, 69, of 657 Timberlane, wellknown area businessman who died Sunday at Clinton Memorial Hospital.

    Mr. Robinson was born in Jamestown, Kansas, May 29, 1910, a son of Sherman and Carrie Robinson. He graduated from high school in Salina, Kansas, attended Kansas Weslyn University and graduated as a product engineer from General Motors Institute.

    He did graduate work at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University.

    After working for General Motors for several years he founded Buckeye Molding Company, presently located in New Vienna. A pioneer in the development of plastic injection molding,

    Mr. Robinson developed the first self-sealing container in 1947.

    He is the retired chairman of the board of Buckeye Molding Company. Mr. Robinson was presented the Gold Plate Award in Chicago in 1973 by the American Academy of Achievement for having become one of America's plastic experts.

    At the time of his death he was president and chairman of the board of Grand Targhee Resort, Alta, Wyo., a member of the Wilmington College Board of Trustees, Southern State Community College Board of Trustees, and the Board of Governors of the American Academy of Achievement.

    He was the recipient of an honorary doctorate degree from Wilmington College and the Silver Beaver Award in Boy Scouting.

    Mr. Robinson was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Dayton.

    His affiliations include Saint John's Lodge F& AM, and Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, Antioch Shrine. He was a past member of Rotary and Lions Clubs. A member of Snow Hill Country Club and Elks Lodge 797.

    He was a member of several professional and engineering associations.

    Mr. Robinson is survived by his wife Eleanor of 657 Timberlane, to whom he was married in 1935 in New York City; a son, W. David of New Vienna; two grandchildren; a brother, C.C, Robinson of Cherryvale, Kansas; three sisters, Mrs. Ronald Rainsier, Oceanside, Calif., Mrs. Michael Cyranko, Miami, Fla., and Mrs. Marlin Cox, Roseburg, Ore.; and two newphews.

    A son, Dr. John William Robinson, two brothers and a sister are deceased.

    ROBINSON Eleanor W. (nee Watson), beloved wife of the late William H. Robinson, loving mother of William David Robinson (Irene G.) and the late John William Robinson, M.D., dear grandmother of Carrie M. Robinson and Emily J. Robinson, sister of the late Paul Watson, the late Carolyn Loughran and the late Lucille Woodworth, and many nieces and nephews.

    Died Sunday, November 12, 1995 at her residence. Age 86. She was a former volunteer at Clinton Memorial Hospital, Wilmington, former member of the Clinton Co. Mental Health Board, founder of Culver Academies Mother's Club, Wilmington Garden Club, Chairman of the Board of Grand Targhee Ski Resort, Dayton Women's Club, member of Beta Sigma Phi, Benefactor and Patron of Wilmington College, member of the White Shrine, Clinton County Ladies Oriental Shrine.

    She taught school for several years and was Vice President of Buckeye Molding Co., New Vienna, OH., until its sale in 1972; a graduate of Farris State College, a member of Wilmington Presbyterian Church, but attended Knox Presbyterian Church in Hyde Park.

    Memorial Services Thursday, November 16, 1995, 2:00 P.M. at Reynolds Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South St., Wilmington. Burial in Sugar Grove Cemetery.

      Miss Vance is a graduate of Wilmingron High School and is now a Sophomore in the School of Education at Ohio State University.

      Mr. Robinson is a graduate of Culver Military Academy where he was a member of the band for four years. He will graduate from Wilmingon College next June and enter the Univesity of Cincinnati college of Medicine .

      The Robinson family have spent many summers on Lake Maxinkuckee at their East Shore home.

      Miss Cheryl Vance and Mr. John W. Robinson have chosen the attendants for their wedding which will take place Saturday evening, June 20, at 7:30 o'clock in the Wil. mington Methodist Church.

      The bride-to-be is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Vance of Wilmington, granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. O. Vance of East South Street, city. Mr. Wilbur Vance is the owner of White's Foundry on Catherine and North West Sts., here.

      Attending Miss Vance will be her sister, Miss Debbie Vance, Miss Sue Bishop, Miss Jean Creamer, Miss Nancy Settlemyre of Wilmington and Miss Carla Massie of Portsmouth.
