Alvin Robert McKee  



After his marriage they moved to Bloomington, Monroe, In. where he worked in a drug store for awhile. Then removed to in between Indianapoliis, Marion county Indiana and Danville, Hendricks, county In. where he worked on a dairy farm.

In Nov. 1952 before thanksgiving removed to Culver, Marshall, In. where he went to work on the Newman Dairy Farms till they supposingly quit selling milk to the Academy .

He then went to work for the A. Judson Dillion farm (hogs) and worked there until Aug. 1962

On the 1st of AUg 1962 he took over the managership of the Hoosier Pete Gas station on Lakeshore drive which burnt in Jan. 1972; and continued working for the company in Rochester, Fulton, In. in the owners other stations located there, moving there out on St Rd. 31 at the Tippecanoe bridge and then mostly at the 4th Street location.

They moved to Rochester in May 1974 when the home the rented at 416 Lakshore Drive was sold to the Willhite family by Dale & Jane Long and Alvin and his wife Reba finally located in Bradenton, Manatee, Fla. shortly after Labor Day of 1974 where they both died. WHile living in the Culver area from 1952-1974 the McKee's only rented their homes.

Alvin Robert Mc Kee was born March 26, 19008 in Greene County, Indiana. He was the son of James G. and Lillie G. (Vandeventer) McKee.

Alvin was married on December 3, 1948 at Linton, to Reba Doris Emery and they had two children

    Stephen "Steve" Michael McKee a graduate of Culver Community High School who went to Brandention, FLordia in May 1974 and returning to help his parents and his mothers sister move.

    Judith Elaine Mckee a graduate of Culver Community High School who remained in Culver and married David Boswell Burns Sr.







Alvin McKee rites held in Flordia - Word has been received that Alvin R. McKee, 76, of 1806 Restful Drive, Bradenton, Flordia, died Sunday, November 25, 1984 at Manatee Memorial Hospital, Bradenton, Fl.

Funeral Services were conducted Wednesday, November 28, 1984 at Bradenton Funeral Home with Alfred L. Bayless officiating. Burial was at Skyway Memorial Gardens at Palmetto, Fl.

Born in Lyons, Indiana Mr. McKee went to Bradenton from Culver, Ind. in September 1974.

He retired as a service station manager for Exxon Corporation.

He was a member of the Midway Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Reba; a daughter, Judith Burns of Culver, In.; and a son, Stephen of Brandenton, Flordia, a sister, Thelma Hennebohle of Pinellas Park, Flordia, and three grandchildren."






Reba D. McKee, 88, of Bradenton, Fla., formerly of Culver, died Friday, April 3, 2009.

Survivors include son,Stephen (Sheryl) McKee of Lake Wales, Fla.; daughter, Judith Burns of Rochester; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Norma Emery of Bradenton, Fla.

A graveside service was held Monday, April 6 at Skyway Memorial Gardens Palmetto, Fla.

Arrangements were by Griffith-Cline Funeral Home Bradenton, Fla.
