The ligihted Staute of Librety,was a welcome sight as Anna and her widowed mother came to the United States. her four brothers Charley, Richard, and Joseph and Fritz preceded them.... A land drive in the Culver area in the early 1900's brought them to Culver by train.... Joe bought a parcel of land in Hibbard, Charley bought a farm near Culver on which there was a small house in which Anna and her mother could live in... They pruchased a lot on Slate Street in Culver and planned to build a home there..Anna purchased a house on Main Street across from the bank, owned by John Osborn. She had it moved to the lot on Slate street, remodeled it and still lives there (1988) - Marshall County Historical Society, History of Marshall County Indiana - Sesquicentennial 1836-1986, The (1986 Taylor Publishing Co.), pg. 325

This makes the 19th house erecter in the old Vandalia Park.

And by the way, the three Schweidler borthers have proved to be vauable addition to Culver's growth and business enterprises. If there are any more Schwidler living, bring 'en on...
