    CURRY BARNES PASSED AWAY LAST NIGHT

    DIED SUDDENLY AT LAKE MAXUfKUCKEE H0ME AT 8 O'CLOCK.

    HEART TROUBLE CAUSE

    W. W. C. "Curry" Barnes, age 54, former local contractor and brother of James I and Charles Barnes, died suddenly at 8 o'clock last night at his cottage at Lake Maxinkuckee, following an attach of heart trouble. Mr. Barnes had been in ill health for the past year but his condition had not been regarde as serious.

    Mr. Barnes whose home is located in Marion, had taken up reisdence at Culver during the early part of fall for the benefit of his health Although upon, several occasions he had been subject to heart attacks, his death occurred rather unexpectedly, according to relatives.

    Moves to Marlon.

    Deceased who was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Barnes, entered the contracting business in this city more than twenty years ago with his father and brothers James and Charles Barnes. He later became affiliated in business with Charles Barnes. From this city "Curry" Barnes moved to Marion where be organized his own building company and has since resided there. Hoping to benefit his health, he removed to Culver for the winter, but had planned to return to Marion in the spring.

    Surviving him are the. widow, three brothers James I, Charles and Ben Barnes of this city and one sister, Mrs. Clara Funk of Social Circle, Ga., who with her daughter recently left upon a world tour with the party headed by Miss Ora Cox. It is- understood that the party with which Mrs. Funk is traveling have just reached California and efforts will be made immediately to communicate with her. James I.Barnes who is now in Miami Fla.. has also been notified of his brother's death. No funeral arrangements have, yet been made.

    The funeral of Curry Barnes was held this afternoon from, the residence of his brother Charles H. Brnes on Front street, conducted by Rev. W. C. Holmes of the Universarist church. The remains were placed in the mausoleum in Mt. Hope cemetery.

    Mrs. Effie Barnes Expires In Marion; Services Wednesday

    Final services for Mrs. Effie Barnes, 90, of Marion, Ind., widow of W. W. C. Barnes, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Diggs Funeral Home in Marion. Burial will be at noon that day in Mt, Hope Cemetery here.

    Friends may call at the funeral home.

    Mrs. Barnes, a resident of Marion since 1901, died at her home there at 3:15 a.m. Saturday

    after a long illness.

    She was a charter member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and belonged to the Department Club and the YWCA, all in Marion.

    A native of Franklin, Ind., she was born March 25, 1S75, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bronson. Her marriage was in 1898.

    Her husband, a contractor, built the YMCA and IOOF buildings in Marion.

    Survivors are two sons, Don C. Miller of Newtown, Conn., and Jack C. Miller of Morgan Hill, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. F. P. Woolery of Indianapolis and Mrs. Wilson Miller of Detroit, and two grandchildren.
