    Charles H. Barnes, 60, Succumbs In Chicago

    High Street Rd., a local real estate investor, died at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday at Billings Hospital in Chicago, Ill.

    Born May 10, 1909 in Richmond, Va., he was the son of Charles H., Sr., and Mae B. DeWeese Barnes.

    At one time he was associated with his father and brother in the contracting business in Logansport. He was a graduate of Logansport High School and attended Indiana University. He was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church, Elks' Lodge and the Indiana Realtors Association.

    His marriage was In 1935 In Logansport to the former Joy Smith who survives.

    Surviving with the widow are a son, Thomas, Indianapolis; two daughters, Mrs. Eugene Dramm, La Jolla, Calif.; and Mrs. Patricia Moder, Chicago; six grandchildren: and one nephew, John E. Barnes, III, 2527 E. Broadway.

    He was preceded in death by a brother, John E. Barnes, a private funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the McCloskey-Hamilton-Kahle Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronald Felty officiating.

    Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cememetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. - - Logansport Pharos Tribune And Press January 22, 1970
