Nancy Stimson July 9, 1946 — October 5, 2014
Nancy Englehart Stimson went to be with the Lord after a swift, yet courageous, battle with cancer. Her love of family and incredible faith guided her through her final moments. Nancy was preceded in death by her mother, Nancy and her brother, Tim. S he is survived by her father, Theodore McNutt Englehart, her husband of 45 years, John J. Stimson, her eldest son, John and wife, Ellen and granddaughter, Aryl and her youngest son, Theodore and wife, Katherine. The family would like to thank everyone for their love, support and countless prayers over the past months; it is what sustained us through this journey and will continue to comfort us during this time. Nancy was a retired United Methodist Minister. She was the founding director of Free Wheelin' Community Bikes, an inner city non-profit for teaching kids how to maintain and safely ride bicycles. If the kids completed the prescribed courses, they could earn a bike, helmet and bike lock. Nancy loved bicycling, sailing, water and snow skiing. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Free Wheelin' Community Bikes or Meridian Street United Methodist Church. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday October 9th in the Flanner and Buchananat Broad Ripple. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday October 10th in the sanctuary of the Meridian Street United Methodist Church with interment at Crown Hill Cemetery.
