Saturday Rites For Robert A. Beck

Robert A. Beck, age 81, 718 Peru Court, Culver , died at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, at the Landis Nursing Home in Argos following an illness of the past two years.

Born Jan. 30, 1885, in South Bend to Joseph and Wilhelmina Beck, he had lived in Culver for the past 15 years, coming from South Bend. He was a retired employee of the Studebaker Corp.

On Jan. 3, 1908, in South Bend, Mr. Beck was married to Saddle Claeys, who survives with one son, Clifford H. Beck, of South Bend, three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 5, at the Easterday-Bonine Funeral Home in Culver with, the Rev. R. J. Mueller, pastor of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Culver , officiating, burial will follow in the Culver Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Easterday-Bonine Funeral Home after 7 p.m. today, Thursday, March 3, - Citizen - March 3, 1966

Mrs Sadie Claeys Beck, 90, of the South Bend Convalescent Center, died at 10:45 p.m. Friday in St. Joseph's Hospital.

She was born on March 2, 1886 in belgium, and had lived in South Bend 10 years after coming from Culver.

In 1908, in South Bend, she married Robert A. Beck, who died on March 2, 1966.

Surviving are a son, Clifford R. of South Bend; three grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Martha Flannigan of SOuth Bend.

A Services will be 10 a.m. Monday in the Forest G, Hay Funeral Home, 1201 S. Michigan. Rev. Joseph R. Crowley of St. Matthews Cathedral well officate.

Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery, Culver.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and until time so services Monday in the funeral home.

Mrs. Beck was a member of St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church, Culver. - South Bend Tribune Feb. 2, 1977
